On May 18, the Party Committee in Belgium successfully held the Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term. The Congress was held solemnly in a spirit of solidarity, dynamism and efficiency.

Attending and directing the Congress were comrade Nguyen Van Thao, Party Secretary, Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg and the EU, and nearly 50 delegates representing party members of 5 branches under the Party Committee.

On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh, the founder, trainer and leader of the Communist Party of Vietnam , delegates attending the Congress and party members of affiliated branches offered incense at the Uncle Ho shrine in the Embassy grounds, commemorating his great contributions.

Overview of the Congress.

The political report presented to the Congress outlined the outstanding results of the Party Committee in all aspects during the past term and reported on comments on the documents of the Congress of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the 14th National Party Congress.

The Party Committee in Belgium always thoroughly grasps the Party's guidelines and policies, especially the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the annual action programs of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , and the action programs to implement the results of diplomatic conferences.

The Congress discussed and exchanged ideas enthusiastically, contributing to the Political Report and draft documents submitted to the Party Congress of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the 14th National Party Congress.

The summary of the Party Committee's work for the 2020-2025 term shows that the Party Committee has excellently completed its political tasks, contributing to the development of relations between Vietnam and Belgium, Luxembourg and the EU. Party building and Party affairs have also made much progress.

Speaking at the Congress, comrade Nguyen Van Thao acknowledged the results that the Party Committee has achieved in recent times, especially in the context of many fluctuations in the local and world situations.

The Party Committee has actively contributed to researching and advising on promoting bilateral relations between Vietnam and Belgium, Luxembourg and the EU; closely coordinated with relevant authorities to organize many important events and successfully served many bilateral and multilateral visits and working sessions of the parties.

Secretary Nguyen Van Thao proposed that the Party Committee and Party organizations in Belgium need to resolutely innovate Party work, ensure effective operations of the Party Committee in Belgium; promote the pioneering, important and regular role of foreign affairs in creating and maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for national development; make the most of resources and favorable conditions in the EU, Belgium and Luxembourg to develop the country, contributing to the successful implementation of political tasks in the era of national development and growth.

In that spirit, the Congress voted and unanimously approved the Resolution of the Party Congress in Belgium for the 2025-2030 term.
