Currently, the team is training in Vinh Long and is missing two key players, main attacker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and middle attacker Tran Thi Bich Thuy, because they are playing in Japan.
According to the competition schedule, the women's indoor volleyball event of SEA Games 33 will start from December 10 to 15.
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team are in group B with Indonesia, Myanmar and Malaysia; group A includes Thailand (host, defending champion), Philippines and Singapore.

The teams compete in a round robin in each group, with the top two teams advancing to the semi-finals.
The Vietnam Women's Volleyball team will play their opening match against the Myanmar team at 3:00 p.m. (Vietnam time) on December 10.
The next match, the Vietnamese team will meet Malaysia at 12:30 on December 11. In the final match of the group stage, the Vietnamese girls will meet Indonesia at 12:30 on December 12.
The goal of Vietnamese women's volleyball at SEA Games 33 is to reach the finals, and further aim for the gold medal.
At the 32nd SEA Games in 2023 in Cambodia, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team performed impressively, reaching the final, but then lost 1-3 to Thailand, winning the silver medal.
