Latest SEA Games 33 men's football schedule, updated after Cambodia withdrew - Graphics: AN BINH
The men's football tournament will be held from December 3 to 18. However, the groups will be changed when U22 Singapore from group C will move up to replace Cambodia in group A.
Thus, all 3 groups of men's football at SEA Games 33 have 3 teams.
Group A includes Thailand, Timor Leste and Singapore. Vietnam, Malaysia and Laos are in Group B. Group C has the presence of U22 Indonesia, Myanmar and the Philippines.
According to the schedule, the U22 Vietnam team will play the opening match of the SEA Games men's football at 4 p.m. on December 3 against Laos. After that, the U22 Vietnam team will have a decisive match against Malaysia on December 11.
After the group stage, the three group winners and the best runner-up will advance to the semi-finals. The semi-finals will take place on December 15, while the final will take place on December 18.
U22 Indonesia is the current SEA Games champion. According to experts, U22 Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam are the top candidates for the 33rd SEA Games gold medal.
At the most recent SEA Games, U22 Vietnam won the bronze medal.
