Bank cards are used to make payments, transfers... on the card there is usually a series of numbers that many people mistakenly think is the account number.

What is the bank card number?

The bank card number is a series of numbers, usually consisting of 16 or 19 digits, embossed directly on the card surface. Each group of numbers will provide different information.

ATM card number has the following structure:

- First 4 digits: State assigned code

- Next 2 digits: bank code of the card issuing organization

- Next 4 digits: CIF code to identify customer information records.

- The remaining digits: randomly assigned codes for customers.

The number on a bank card can be found on the front or back of the card (usually printed on the front of the card). Through the ATM card number, the bank can distinguish between ATM cards on the same system to effectively manage customer transactions.

According to the regulations of the State Bank, each bank has its own BIN code to distinguish. On the bank ATM card number, through the BIN code, it is also possible to know the transactions linked between banks.
