The DBZ 100th Anniversary Collection was launched by Aston Martin in October 2019, this super exclusive collection includes a modern V12 grand tourer and a stunning reinterpretation of the classic Aston Martin grand tourer. Only 19 of these pairs will be produced, and customer deliveries will begin in the fourth quarter of 2020. The British brand initially priced the pair at $8 million, which sounds crazy. On the other hand, the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation alone is a dream for any car enthusiast.
However, it is time for this dream to be awakened when an auction unit estimates that such a pair, exquisitely customized, is expected to be auctioned for between 3.5 and 4.5 million dollars (about more than 117 billion VND). The delivered cars will be auctioned off at Monterey Jet Auctions in August 2025. The real star here is the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation, built by Aston Martin Works to the highest standards imaginable. The Caribbean Blue car’s traditional craftsmanship is enhanced by modern engineering advances, including a naturally aspirated 4.7-liter straight-six engine, compared to the original’s 3.7-liter unit. An original DB4 GT Zagato produced over 340 horsepower with the help of twin Weber triple carburettors. By comparison, the Continuation produces around 390 horsepower.
Chassis number DB4/GT/0239/L is a fine example of craftsmanship and design, bearing the original vehicle identification number (VIN), justifying the “continuation” designation as a 1963 model. Finished in stunning Caribbean Pearl, the interior is upholstered in luxurious Obsidian Black and Connolly Blue leather with dark blue carpeting. The car took 4,500 hours to build, with craftsmen using traditional methods. Equally impressive is the 2020 Aston Martin DBS GT Zagato, also finished in Caribbean Blue. Improving on Marek Reichman's design on the DBS Superleggera is no easy feat, but with the DBS GT, Zagato has shown why they've been one of the world's most respected design houses for over a century.
Aston Martin engineers have taken the DBS Superleggera to new heights of performance and class. Power from the 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine has been increased to 760bhp and 900Nm of torque, all sent through an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. The interior is upholstered in luxurious monochrome Dark Knight leather with Zagato logos embroidered on the headrests. In a first for Aston Martin, many interior details feature carbon fibre and 3D-printed metal finishes. This includes the famous 3D-printed silver finish.
