Auction of the painting 'Cloud Hooves' by master horse painter Tran Huy Duc

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên30/09/2024

Commenting on two master horse painters, Le Tri Dung ( Hanoi ) and Tran Huy Duc (Hai Phong), Dr. Nguyen Phuong said: "Le Tri Dung often chooses 3 colors: red, black, white, while Tran Huy Duc chooses 2: white and black. In terms of lines, both are free, open, and strong, expressing intense desires for freedom and an unlimited space for wildness and arrogance. Looking at Tran Huy Duc's horse paintings, people see the vast sea; looking at Le Tri Dung's horse paintings, people see the distant sky... Looking at the paintings of the two artists, somewhere in our hearts we feel gratitude because, although not intentionally, the two of them have lit a fire in us that we have let die in our hearts for a long time."

"Looking at Tran Huy Duc's horse paintings, one sees the vast ocean," commented Dr. Nguyen Phuong.

As for writer Tran Nha Thuy, after successfully auctioning the oil painting "Hon Que" by People's Artist Tra Giang, earning 151 million VND, he donated it to people in the flood-hit areas in the North through Thanh Nien Newspaper. He seems to be quite "lucky" in the new field, so many artists wanted to help them auction their paintings. "The storm and flood situation in the North pushed emotions up, and artists also wanted to contribute a little effort, and it was also their heart, so I thought the right thing to do was to do it," writer Tran Nha Thuy confided.

The Horse painting by veteran artist Tran Huy Duc (Hai Phong) was sent by him, through poet Ngoc Dung ( Dak Nong ), to his southern friends to auction for charity purposes. The beautiful painting was just sent directly to Han Nom Duong of Mr. Bui Tien Phuc and Han Nom Duong has done the manual mounting, museum quality, and 50-year warranty, which can also be considered a "lifetime warranty".

Another unique feature of the horse painting by Tran Huy Duc (signed in Vietnamese: Huy Duc, Chinese seal character 陳輝德 Tran Huy Duc) is that it is made of Chinese ink on Vietnamese do paper (size 73.5 x 105cm), tentatively named Vo May - the horse's hooves fluttering as if flying in the clouds. It also implies escaping the "heartbreak" in Kieu's verse: "How heartbreaking! When parting ways/The horse's hooves are wobbly, the wheels are bumpy".
