This year’s VMHM theme “Go wild Hanoi” continues the strong and free spirit of the runner community. This is also the first season with PUMA as a strategic partner, bringing a new, youthful and modern look through many sponsorship categories and experiential activities.
On October 28 and 29, athletes received race kits and participated in activities at the event area. The highlight was the PUMA booth designed like a giant shoe box - simulating each individual's "safe zone". When entering this space, runners can participate in the "Brainwave" activity - a brainwave experience that allows them to listen and connect with themselves. According to PUMA, only when they understand themselves and dare to step out of their familiar framework can athletes reach new milestones in their journey of effort.
Before the main race day, PUMA organized the Shake Out Run event on the afternoon of November 28 with the participation of runners, pacers and KOLs from the Vietnamese running community. This activity aims to create an exciting atmosphere, help athletes "warm up", maintain foot sensation and spread positive energy before entering the G hour.

At exactly 0:05 on November 30, VMHM 2025 officially kicked off. This year's route continued to take runners through landmarks that have become symbols of Hanoi: the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum area, Thanh Nien Street - a thin silk strip between West Lake and Truc Bach, the tree-lined Phan Dinh Phung route, the sparkling Hoan Kiem Lake and the Old Quarter. The journey also took runners through the roundabout and the Red River Bridge - a symbolic work representing the intersection between tradition and contemporary life in the capital. For many runners, this is not just a running route, but also a moment to feel the poetry of Hanoi at night.
The official VMHM 2025 jersey continues to use the familiar pink color - the color that has become the hallmark of the tournament over the years. The design is modern and minimalist, with the number 5 on the sleeve, marking the 5-year journey of the event. During the competition night, the "pink wave" is expected to cover the streets, spreading the spirit of "Go Wild Midnight".
This year’s Finisher shirt comes in two versions: the 21km shirt features a midnight blue color that transitions to light, emphasizing the spirit of innovation; while the 42km shirt uses a white-turquoise color scheme, made from a water-resistant material specifically for marathon finishers. Each shirt is a symbol of endurance, marking the runner’s efforts in the middle of the night in Hanoi.

The VMHM 2025 medal tells the complete story of the half-decade journey. The image of the VMHM-05 train in the center symbolizes the overnight train that has been rolling non-stop with the runner community. Behind is the Hanoi Flag Tower and Long Bien Bridge - the historical symbols of the city; above is the Hanoi Railway Station, representing the starting point of every journey. The back is engraved with the words: "5 years of brilliant journey, where millions of footsteps touch the soul of the old town".
In addition to the unique running experience, this year’s race carries the message of “Smoke-free Green Run”, encouraging awareness of environmental protection, keeping the space clean and reducing cigarette waste. This is considered an effort to spread the spirit of green sports and community responsibility right in the heart of the capital.
