Built in 2013 with a total investment of about 22.5 billion VND, after many years, Tay Mo market (Nam Tu Liem district) is still just an abandoned building, overgrown with grass and trees, tangled with vines, and scattered needles.
Editor's note: Currently, in Hanoi, there are many newly built markets, each worth billions of VND, but they are abandoned, overgrown with weeds, and even become residences for workers from the provinces who come to the capital to work. Some places are even used for the wrong purpose.
Dan Viet would like to introduce a series of photos of these markets (Part 1).

Tay Mo Market (Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi) was invested with a scale of 3,600 m2, including the main market house, the Management Board house and auxiliary works. The total construction cost was 22.5 billion VND, approved on May 7, 2013, but until now the project is still abandoned and cannot be put into use.
Currently, the gate and fence outside the market are dilapidated, overgrown with weeds and garbage.
Inside, this market has built a system of management houses, security guards and a market row.
Previously, on March 8, 2015, the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District announced the land reclamation to the relevant households. The local people hoped that a new, spacious market would be built to serve their daily needs. However, despite the large investment, Tay Mo market has not yet been put into use.
Inside a room in the market were piles of old clothes and blankets.
Even with needles.
Ceilings, walls, and tiles are degraded.
Abandoned for many years, the market space is covered with grass, weeds, vines...
To get into the market, reporters had to walk through a path filled with vines and garbage.
About 200 meters away is a temporary market for local people. People living in the area said that because the Tay Mo market is far from the center, many people do not want to come to trade because it is in the opposite direction and most importantly, it is near the cemetery so they are afraid to come to trade.
