Promoting digital transformation in educational institutions

Identifying the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation as key tasks, contributing to gradually improving the quality of work; in recent times, the education and training sector of Phu Tho province has focused resources and proposed many solutions to build a smart education ecosystem.

Tan Dan Primary School, Viet Tri Ward is one of the pioneers in digital transformation. Principal Nguyen Thi Minh Thinh said that the school has built an automatic student attendance system when entering and leaving school. The school has integrated electronic contact books to help parents monitor learning and training results; applied digital signatures, electronic transcripts, revenue and expenditure through software, used artificial intelligence (AI) and digital learning materials in teaching.

The implementation of administration and organization of teaching on digital platforms in recent times has helped the school grasp diverse information, helping teachers and students be flexible in teaching and learning, students have open thinking, multidimensional thinking. Thanks to that, many teachers have won national and provincial awards for digital lectures. At Van Lang Secondary School, Viet Tri Ward, the school focuses on maintaining and promoting information on the official website and fanpage to publicize plans, announcements, articles, activity images, and create a two-way interactive channel with parents, students, and the community. Teaching and learning are managed through the application of a learning management system (LMS), question banks, digital learning materials, and electronic libraries.

Some subjects have used software to test and evaluate students' abilities; using communication apps so that parents can promptly grasp their children's learning and training situation. Encouraging teachers and students to use AI in educational activities... Or recently, Lam Thao Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center has promoted the spirit of innovation and creativity.

With more than 800 students and 20 classes, the center is gradually transforming under the positive impact of digital transformation. Center Director Dao Hoang Huu said: Realizing the importance of digital transformation, in recent times, the center has focused on investing in information technology infrastructure, ensuring stable internet connection, upgrading computer systems and modern projection equipment in classrooms.

The center promotes online teaching and training, applies information technology in learning and manages data periodically, thereby contributing to improving the quality of education and training. In addition, the center develops digital capacity for vocational education teachers, completes data updates and verifies and synchronizes personal identification numbers of staff, teachers and students. The center has provided accounts, instructions and deployed students to register for online graduation exams centrally in the computer room, ensuring accurate information...

In the coming time, the center will continue to promote training and fostering digital skills for teachers, strengthen links with technology enterprises to update advanced solutions in management and teaching. The ultimate goal is to build an open, flexible education system that best meets the diverse learning needs of local people, contributing to the overall development of the province. After the merger, Phu Tho province has one of the largest educational scales in the country with 1,957 educational institutions and nearly one million students.

Implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on scientific and technological breakthroughs, innovation and national digital transformation and the action program of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on implementing Resolution No. 57, the Phu Tho education and training sector has deployed many breakthrough solutions. The sector focuses on building a smart education ecosystem; synchronizing databases, applying electronic gradebooks, digital transcripts, online enrollment, cashless payments, electronic records management, and interconnecting data across the sector.

Deploying smart classroom models, blended online learning, shared digital learning resources, AI and Internet of Things (IoT) applications in teaching and management. Up to now, all schools in the province have internet connection; many units are equipped with standard computer classrooms, interactive boards, and electronic libraries. Many schools have invested in simulation classrooms and STEM labs; teachers and students have achieved many high achievements in STEM, robotics, and scientific and technical research competitions.

However, the digital transformation of the industry still faces many difficulties due to the lack of synchronous technology infrastructure. In remote areas, the internet connection is weak, lacking terminal equipment; many schools do not have standard computer rooms or modern equipment; preschools do not have IT teachers... In addition, the investment funding source is limited compared to the requirements. Attracting high-quality IT human resources is not effective due to uncompetitive remuneration; management software is not synchronous, causing difficulties in exploiting and using data.

Deputy Head of the Department of Science, Technology and Information, Department of Education and Training of Phu Tho province Nguyen Anh Tuan said that immediately after the merger, the Department has developed a plan for science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation. Relevant units have proposed many solutions to focus on propaganda and widely deploy the movements of "Digital Education for All" and "Digital Learning".

At the same time, build a data strategy and digital transformation of the industry; focus on investing in and upgrading digital infrastructure, data infrastructure, digital learning materials to serve smart management at educational institutions. In addition, the Department effectively deploys a smart education ecosystem in school management and administration and organizes teaching and learning in a digital environment... with the goal of applying the achievements of the 4.0 industrial revolution to change the form of management, administration and teaching towards the goal of building a smart, modern, integrated education ecosystem.
