Promote career guidance for students

In recent times, career guidance has not only stopped at propaganda but has become a regular, in-depth activity, implemented synchronously between educational institutions, professional agencies and training units. In particular, many universities, colleges and vocational education centers have actively coordinated with high schools in the area, helping students access early information on careers, employment trends and learning opportunities.

Mr. Tran Vu Phuong, Head of Training Department, Tan Trao University said: "We always identify career counseling as a key task. Every year, the school coordinates with high schools in the province to organize centralized counseling sessions or in the classroom."

Not stopping at direct consultation sessions, Tan Trao University also established an online career guidance committee on the school's fanpage, helping to promptly answer students' questions, while updating career trends, recruitment needs and learning opportunities. "We provide honest and objective advice, whether or not the major is in the school's training catalog. The goal is to help students understand the strengths and weaknesses of each major to make the right choice," Mr. Phuong shared. Notably, the rate of students having jobs after graduation at Tan Trao University is 97%, thanks to a strategy of closely connecting with recruitment units.

At Ham Yen High School, career guidance is implemented right from when students enter grade 10. The school focuses on classifying each student according to their abilities and interests to provide appropriate orientation. During the teaching process, subject teachers closely monitor and identify students' abilities and passions, thereby advising them to choose the right course and future career that suits their strengths.

Every year, the school develops a specific plan for career guidance activities and works closely with parents to reach a consensus on orientation. Mr. Nguyen Van Hanh, the school’s principal, added: “There are many cases where students have the ability to study at university, but their families want their children to study a trade early; therefore, the school always strengthens propaganda so that parents can clearly understand their children’s abilities and passions, thereby choosing the most suitable path.”

Promoting career guidance for students not only helps them make the right choice but also contributes to improving the quality of human resources in the province.
