Nearly 135 billion VND to develop the Agricultural Extension Program for the period 2026-2030

On November 12, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to appraise the Agricultural Extension Program of Tuyen Quang province for the period 2026-2030. Comrade Hoang Gia Long, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Appraisal Council chaired the meeting. According to the draft, the Agricultural Extension Program for the 2026-2030 period aims to develop sustainable production associated with environmental protection and climate change adaptation. The focus of the program is to promote agricultural production in the direction of ecology, high technology, circulation and digital transformation, in parallel with building model rural areas, improving people's income and quality of life.

Regarding production, traditional productivity will be increased by 10-15% through promoting production and product consumption linkages, while strictly meeting food safety and hygiene requirements... The total estimated budget for implementing the Program is nearly 135 billion VND; of which, the State budget commits to support 102 billion VND, the rest is counterpart funding from people and businesses.

Contributing ideas to the program, delegates emphasized the need to build a professional agricultural extension team, proficient in digital technology to disseminate knowledge and develop high-quality agricultural human resources for the province. At the same time, it is necessary to calculate and select plant and animal varieties with strengths, characteristics, endemicity, suitable for soil conditions, consumer markets and associated with the processing industry, ensuring sustainable production, increasing income for farmers...

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Gia Long affirmed: The agricultural extension program for the 2026-2030 period has basically ensured legality, focus, key points and sustainability.

The goal of the program is to increase added value and sustainable development of the agricultural sector, the role of agricultural extension is very important. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested: The Department of Agriculture and Environment must pay special attention to the province's strong products for investment and development such as: Mint honey, exported tea, Shan Tuyet specialty tea, planted forest wood, large livestock farming...

The leaders of the Department of Finance commented on the draft budget to ensure effective implementation of the program.

On the basis of those potential and strong plants and animals, to build and develop concentrated commodity production areas with brands associated with the consumer market, ensuring breakthroughs and long-term economic efficiency; applying scientific and technical advances, high technology, digital transformation, circulation, ecology, reducing emissions to the environment; developing production models associated with eco-tourism to increase production value per unit area...

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: This is a comprehensive program, with long-term strategy for the whole period, so the Department of Agriculture and Environment must also rely on the Central agricultural extension program, avoiding overlap. He also requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to differentiate the goals and solutions; at the same time, absorb the opinions of the delegates to perfect the program, ensuring effectiveness.
