Promoting innovation and transferring science and technology into life

The Union of Science and Technology Associations (S&T) of Tuyen Quang province has been affirming its role as an organization that gathers intellectuals, acting as a bridge to bring scientific and technological knowledge into practical life and production. From effective application models to consulting and critical activities, the Union of Associations has made an important contribution to promoting socio-economic development, building new rural areas, and improving people's lives.

Bridge between scientists and people

As a mountainous province with many difficulties in the border, Tuyen Quang has identified the application of scientific and technological advances as one of the important solutions to exploit the potential and strengths of each region and each industry. In that spirit, the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations has promoted the role of gathering and uniting intellectuals, coordinating with departments, branches, institutes and schools to organize hundreds of training courses, scientific seminars and direct technology transfer activities to farmers.

In the period of 2020-2025 alone, the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations has coordinated to deploy more than 100 typical models applying scientific and technological advances to agricultural production in communes and wards. Typical examples include the model of growing medicinal plants under forest canopy in Hoang Su Phi and Quang Binh communes; transferring livestock farming techniques towards commodities in Na Hang, Lam Binh, Linh Ho, Bac Me and Yen Minh communes; producing safe vegetables according to VietGAP standards in Son Duong and Ham Yen; growing oranges and temperate fruit trees in Quan Ba, Dong Van and Pho Bang communes... Many models have brought about clear results, helping people change their production mindset and increase their income.

The family of Mr. Tran Van Thanh, Minh Thanh village, Linh Ho commune is one of the pioneers in developing the model of raising spotted deer in the locality. Currently, his family is taking care of more than 50 deer on a systematic scale. Thanks to the application of the right techniques and careful care, the deer herd has developed steadily, producing high-quality antlers. Every year, from this model, Mr. Thanh's family earns a stable income of 500 to 600 million VND, becoming a typical example of good economic performance from animal husbandry. Mr. Thanh shared: "Through training courses and transfer of scientific and technological advances organized by the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations, people have been instructed on the techniques of caring for and harvesting deer antlers according to the correct process. Thanks to that, the efficiency of animal husbandry has been significantly improved, the antlers have higher quality, the output is more stable, and economic life has been significantly improved."

Comrade Cao Hong Ky, Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Tuyen Quang province affirmed: “We identify the role of the Union of Associations as not only a place to gather intellectuals but also a “bridge” to transfer science into life. Through topics, projects and coordination programs, many technical advances have come closer to farmers, especially in remote areas, remote areas and ethnic minority areas”.

Promoting the role of consulting, criticism and scientific initiatives

In parallel with the transfer of science and technology, the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations also strongly promotes the role of consulting and social criticism on the province's socio-economic development policies and projects. From 2020 to present, the unit has conducted dozens of criticisms and comments on important projects such as: Planning for the development of medicinal herb areas; Project for sustainable agricultural development associated with ecological environment protection; Strategy for education and training development of Tuyen Quang province in the new period; comments on draft laws... The criticisms have been recognized and highly appreciated by all levels and sectors for their objectivity, science and practicality. In addition, the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations also focuses on developing the movement of scientific research and innovation among local intellectuals. Many topics and initiatives implemented from the grassroots have been replicated, bringing practical results such as: Application of biological products to treat agricultural by-products; Initiatives for water-saving irrigation systems in highland areas; models for using solar energy, waterless toilets in rural areas...

On the basis of promoting the role of intellectuals, the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Tuyen Quang province is aiming to build a "learning society", where science truly becomes the driving force for development; continuing to coordinate with institutes, universities, enterprises, and scientific organizations to promote research cooperation and technology transfer suitable to the conditions of each region. At the same time, increasing participation in innovative start-up programs, supporting the development of typical products, OCOP products associated with the application of science and technology.

From the models, initiatives and research projects transferred, the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Tuyen Quang province is contributing to changing the face of rural areas, improving people's lives, and making science the "golden key" for sustainable development.
