Working delegation of Niki town, Hokkaido province (Japan) visited and worked in Tuyen Quang province

On the afternoon of November 12, a delegation from Niki town, Hokkaido province (Japan) led by Mr. Sato Seiichiro, Mayor of the town, had a working session in Tuyen Quang province. Accompanying the delegation was Mr. Matsuo Tomoyuki, Chairman of the Japan - Vietnam Culinary Association.

Comrade Nguyen Trung Thu, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Tuyen Quang spoke at the meeting.

The Department of Foreign Affairs of Tuyen Quang province was assigned by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to preside over and coordinate with leaders of a number of departments, branches, agencies and units of the province to welcome and work with the delegation.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Trung Thu, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Tuyen Quang warmly welcomed the delegation to visit and work in Tuyen Quang. He discussed with the delegation the basic features of the geographical location, economy and society of Tuyen Quang province after the merger. In particular, the foreign affairs of Tuyen Quang province in recent times have achieved positive results, promoting cooperation with foreign partners, including Japanese partners.

The province has delegation exchange activities and friendly exchanges with Morya city, Ibaraki province and Oita province, Japan. Currently, in the province, there are 2 projects invested by EREX Joint Stock Company including: EREX SAKURA Tuyen Quang Biomass Fuel Factory Project invested by EREX Joint Stock Company and SAKURA Green Energy Joint Stock Company with a total investment capital of nearly 480 billion VND, operating in the field of biomass pellet and wood chip production; Xuan Van Industrial Cluster Technical Infrastructure Investment Project, the project has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee for Investment Policy and investor approval, currently in the process of site clearance.

In attracting aid, the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam has sponsored the implementation of 3 projects in the fields of infrastructure construction for healthcare, education, and solar power in the province with a total aid value of nearly 270 thousand USD; a number of Japanese non-governmental organizations (such as CSR2, NPO AVEUE, AEFA) operate and deploy aid to support educational development and rural development based on available resources in the province.

Through the working trip of the Mayor and his colleagues from Niki town government and the active connection of Mr. Matsuo, Chairman of the Japan - Vietnam Culinary Association and members of the working delegation, the delegates hoped that the working session would open up many new cooperation opportunities for Tuyen Quang province and Japanese partners, especially with Niki town in the coming time, especially in the fields of economic development, agriculture, tourism, culture, human resources and community development...

The two sides agreed to maintain regular information exchange, assign specific contact points to discuss and develop detailed cooperation programs in the discussed fields. The Department of Foreign Affairs of Tuyen Quang province is ready to act as a focal point to connect, support and guide necessary procedures to effectively implement cooperation activities in the coming time, especially establishing a high-level relationship between Niki town and Yen Minh commune.

On behalf of the delegation, he thanked the leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs and departments, branches, and localities of Tuyen Quang Province for their warm and thoughtful welcome. In addition to its strengths in growing fruits such as cherries, Niki Town also has apples, grapes, flowers, wineries, and tourism services.

The delegation realized that Tuyen Quang province, especially Yen Minh commune, has many cultural similarities. The two sides can cooperate in training high-quality labor resources, growing and exporting buckwheat seeds, mint honey, Shan Tuyet tea, medicinal plants, connecting agricultural tourism and community tourism. As Mayor, Mr. Sato Seiichiro promised to do his best to bridge the development cooperation between Niki town and localities of Tuyen Quang province to go into depth and effectiveness.
