The project to restore and embellish the Hac Y historical and archaeological relic associated with tourism development in Tan Linh commune was started in December 2024. The project includes 2 items with a capital of nearly 22 billion VND.
In particular, the Dai Cai temple and pagoda area with an area of 49,500m2 will keep the current state of Dai Cai pagoda; the old Dai Cai temple will be demolished and the roof temporarily restored by the people will be removed to arrange the temple house, reception house, ceremony preparation house, festival yard and other auxiliary items. So far, it has been basically completed.

For the Ben Lan Pagoda archaeological site with an area of 137,500m2, the old damaged roof structure will be demolished to arrange the construction of reception houses combined with the display of artifacts and protection. At the same time, archaeology houses No. 1 and No. 2 will be built to protect the excavated archaeological sites and welcome visitors; and a system of courtyards, internal roads, parking lots, green spaces and other auxiliary items will be built. The province is currently completing investment procedures for this item, and the local government is carrying out site clearance work.
The historical-archaeological site of Hac Y, in Tan Linh commune, was discovered in 1995. Through many excavations, archaeologists discovered in this relic complex many artifacts with shapes and ages similar to those excavated in the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long - Hanoi and it is considered that this is a large-scale Buddhist architectural complex, equivalent to a Buddhist cultural center from the Ly - Tran dynasties.

After surveying and inspecting the works, the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lao Cai province directed the construction unit to speed up the progress and ensure the quality of the works; gave opinions on the space and area of the temple, and at the same time, directed the local government to do a good job of managing the Dai Cai temple relic.
He emphasized that the Ben Lan Pagoda archaeological site needs to pay more attention to protecting, clearing, and cleaning the environment, and to propagandizing and mobilizing people to clear the land to carry out restoration and embellishment as soon as possible.
