Workers are constructing the railing of the Nhu Y riverside walkway. |
According to our records, these days, the investor of the Nhu Y riverside walking street project is always closely following the project to direct the construction units to continue implementing the remaining items.
Up to this point, the main items have been basically completed. The shape of the walking route along the Nhu Y River has basically taken shape, especially from the Dap Da area down to Xuan Phu ward.
After focusing on resolving funding difficulties, contractors are making efforts to speed up the progress to complete the embankment and walkway project along the Nhu Y River according to the plan. Currently, the project has completed about 97% of the construction contract value.
Taking advantage of favorable weather, the construction unit mobilized workers and machinery to race against time to construct a 36m long arch bridge across Phat Lat estuary and 11 water wharves along the route.
In the completed road sections, the construction teams focused on finishing the stainless steel railings with electrostatic paint. The construction units drove more than 1,600 flat concrete piles, 12 to 22 meters long, into the riverbank area using the hydraulic pile pressing method; at the same time, many round concrete piles were driven to reinforce the riverbank and anchor the walkway.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Huy, a resident living along Nguyen Cong Tru Street, shared: “We are looking forward to the completion of the Nhu Y riverside walking path soon. In the area adjacent to the houses along the route, the construction unit has poured concrete, arranged additional landscapes and trees to ensure the traffic of residents and tourists when put into use.”
The Nhu Y riverside walking street runs through Phu Hoi and Xuan Phu wards, Thuan Hoa district, Hue city. It is a project under the Hue City Water Environment Improvement Project (phase 2). This route extends from Da Dam to Van Duong bridge with a length of 1.6km, width of 6m, total investment value of 267 billion VND. The project was implemented from July 2023 and is expected to be completed and put into use in June 2024.
Explaining the delay, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan Anh, Director of the Hue City Water Environment Improvement Project Management Board - the project investor, said that the main reason was that the loan agreement had expired and the project's ODA capital from Japan had been fully disbursed. Therefore, Hue City requested to adjust the investment policy and project, including extending the implementation period to December 30, 2025; at the same time, using local capital instead of ODA capital to implement the remaining items.
“The capital has been allocated, and we are currently rushing to implement the project to complete it by the end of 2025,” Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan Anh affirmed.
Nhu Y River is located in the center of Hue City, connecting to Huong River at Dap Da. After the completion of Nhu Y River walking street, along with many walking routes along Huong River, it promises to bring a new look to the ancient capital of Hue. The riverside walking routes not only beautify the urban face of the city, but also serve as a "highlight" for developing tourism and services along the route and become an attractive destination, attracting domestic and foreign tourists. |
