Reporting on the process of preparing conditions and completing procedures to establish a branch of Thai Nguyen University in Dien Bien province, comrade Le Thanh Do, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Bien province, stated: Regarding facilities and resources, the province plans to use all existing facilities of two colleges, including: Pedagogical College and Medical College. In which, the branch's headquarters is expected to be located at Dien Bien Pedagogical College; facility 1 is the headquarters of Dien Bien Medical College.
Regarding the training plan, in 2025 and 2026, we will continue to train 2 college-level majors: Preschool Education and Nursing; 3 intermediate-level majors (nursing; general practitioner; pharmacy); at the same time, develop the following majors: Primaryeducation ; preschool education; tourism and travel services management (or tourism); Vietnamese language and culture.
Dien Bien Education Sector has gradually innovated and achieved many achievements.
In the 2026-2030 period, training will be expanded to include the following majors: Mong language pedagogy; History-Geography pedagogy; Chinese language; nursing; forestry (combined agriculture-forestry major); animal husbandry-veterinary medicine; medicine; economics (or digital economy); Natural Science pedagogy; agricultural technology.
Enrollment scale each year from 450 to 700 students at intermediate, college and university levels.
Regarding the organizational structure, after the establishment of the branch, Thai Nguyen University will add the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy. Regarding assets, Thai Nguyen University will receive the land, assets, and equipment of Dien Bien Pedagogical College and Medical College in their original state to establish the Thai Nguyen University branch in Dien Bien province.
Agreeing with the report and the specific proposed plan for the preparation of the establishment of a branch of Thai Nguyen University in Dien Bien, comrade Tran Quoc Cuong, Secretary of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee, emphasized that this is a necessary and urgent task for the province in the roadmap to expand industries and professions and improve the quality of human resources in the locality.
Comrade Tran Quoc Cuong requested that functional agencies in each sector and field must actively advise the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee to complete the Project; Comrades of specialized agencies must research, advise and propose to the Ministry of Education and Training to have special preferential policies for ethnic minorities in remote areas so that they have the conditions to study, gradually attracting students from neighboring localities and Laos to study.
In order for the contents and work to be carried out promptly and without interruption, comrade Tran Quoc Cuong requested that immediately after the meeting, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee urgently complete the document to submit for comments from the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, as a basis for the Provincial People's Committee to report to the Ministry of Education and Training; at the same time, work with Thai Nguyen University to unify the contents.
