Speeding up the implementation progress of the 110kV Da Mai power line and transformer station project

BAC NINH - On the afternoon of November 20, the working delegation of the AF - Consult Switzerland Ltd and Mercados Aries International SA Joint Venture under the project "Efficient power grid in small and medium-sized cities, phase 2" (KfW), invested by the Northern Power Corporation, coordinated with the Northern Power Corporation and Bac Ninh Power Company to inspect the progress of the Da Mai 110kV power line and transformer station project, Da Mai ward (Bac Ninh).

The project has a total investment of more than 116.7 billion VND, sponsored by the German Reconstruction Bank (KfW) and counterpart capital from the Northern Power Corporation; the Power Grid Project Management Board of the Northern Power Corporation is assigned as the investor.

Members of the working group, along with representatives of Bac Ninh Electricity Company and contractors, compared the design drawings with the items being implemented at the construction site.

The project has a total area of ​​over 2,400 m2, the construction scale includes: Construction of a new 110kV line 3.2 km long connecting the 110kV Da Mai transformer station with the 110kV Bac Giang - Viet Han line and 1 110kV transformer station (including 2 transformers 2 x 40MVA; first phase install 1 transformer).

The project started on September 30, 2025 and is expected to be completed and energized in the first quarter of 2026. According to the plan, after completion, the 110kV Da Mai transformer station will supply electricity to Song Mai - Nghia Trung Industrial Park and some neighboring areas and connect to the Da Mai waste-to-energy plant to connect to the 110kV grid.

The representative of the working group of the AF - Consult Switzerland Ltd and Mercados Aries International SA said that the Northern Power Corporation received funding from the German Reconstruction Bank to implement 11 electricity sub-projects. Of which, the 110kV Da Mai transmission line and transformer station project, Da Mai ward is the last sub-project and the only project implemented in Bac Ninh.

The project was implemented 2 years ago, however, due to problems with site clearance, it was not started until September this year. Although the project has only started for more than 1 month, the construction progress is fast, with items such as: site leveling completed, equipment and operation house under construction, foundations for power line towers, fences, etc. With this progress, the project will be completed and energized on schedule by March 2026.

During the inspection, the working group supervised the construction progress at the site; the implementation of the environmental and social management plan of the contractor (Joint Venture of Song Da Energy and Construction Investment Joint Stock Company and Dong A Investment, Trade and Labor Contracting Joint Stock Company) at the site; if there were any environmental and social problems that needed to be resolved during the construction process, solutions were proposed.

After the inspection, the working group highly appreciated the performance of the contractor and the coordination of the local authorities in supporting site clearance, ensuring security and order and other tasks.

This is an important power grid project, contributing to ensuring energy security for Bac Ninh province, invested by foreign capital, so the working group hopes that the Northern Power Corporation, the contractor and the local government will work together to speed up the completion progress. Thereby, enhancing the prestige of the electricity industry, contributing to attracting other funding sources.
