HTV Cup Cycling Race
On April 3, the opening ceremony and the first stage of the HTV Cup cycling race took place in Tuyen Quang City, Tuyen Quang Province. This is the 37th time the race has been held with many new features, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification.
The organizers said the race mobilized a large force: more than 100 station staff, 70 motorbikes, 120 people from racing teams, and 50 logistics.
HTV Cup Cycling Race
The HTV Cup cycling race was born in 1989. Two years later, the race was recognized by the General Department of Sports and Physical Training of Vietnam as part of the national competition system.
Starting from the 5th time (1993), the race has a route across Vietnam and quickly became a sport that people eagerly look forward to every April.
Some milestones of this race include: In 2004, for the first time, international racers participated. The route was expanded twice to Laos (2006) and Cambodia (2007).
To date, HTV is the first and only television station that can broadcast live a road cycling race.
In 2020, when people were still hesitant about many community activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the HTV Cup cycling race still took place and was a great success.
That year's race became the first cycling race in the world to be held again after all sporting activities were almost frozen due to the impact of the pandemic. The press in some countries wrote to acknowledge and praise it.
The attraction of the race lies not only in the wheel spins and sprints of the athletes, but also in the journey, the audience can see the beautiful images of the country, culture and people of the land that the race passes through.
Three programs connecting people and government
Speaking and Doing, Listening and Discussing, People Ask - Government Answers are three programs whose mission is to connect the people and leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, broadcast on HTV9 every Sunday.
In 2006, the talk show "Speak and Do" was produced by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Television and quickly became a special dish for the audience.

Mr. Luong Vu Phong, director of HTV News Center, said: "The idea for the program was suggested by Ms. Pham Phuong Thao - former deputy secretary of the City Party Committee, former chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council. According to her, the term of the People's Council has two question and answer periods, but there is always not enough time. Talking and doing is an extension of these question and answer periods. Each month, there is a topic, and leaders of departments and branches come to answer people's questions."
Talk and Do at that time could be considered a rare television program that built a bridge connecting the people with the government.
A statistic stated that if the time spent on question and answer sessions at the meetings of the 7th term of the City People's Council was about 100 hours, then in the past five years, Say and Do also had more than 100 hours of live television broadcast.
After 5 years of broadcasting, the journey of Speaking and Doing officially ended. In 2011, a new similar program was born called Listening and Talking.
The Listening and Exchange Program opens a democratic forum for the Party and authorities at all levels to directly listen to people's opinions and recommendations and create conditions for people to exercise their right to mastery with the motto "People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect".
After the COVID-19 pandemic, the program "People Ask - Government Answers" was continued and is being broadcast on HTV9 every month.
Mr. Phong said: "Along with the strong development of technology today, in addition to broadcasting on traditional television, we have promoted "People Ask - Government Answer" on social platforms, YouTube, and Facebook so that audiences can watch anytime, anywhere."
