Math exam questions and answers for 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City in 2025, fastest update

This morning (June 7), more than 76,000 candidates taking the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City 10th grade entrance exam took the math exam. This is also the last exam subject for the general education system.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, this year's math exam will include 7 questions, of which questions 1 and 2 are familiar, basic problems about graphs, Viet formulas, and solving equations.

From question 3 to question 6 are practical problems; question 7 is plane geometry. Compared to the exam according to the 2006 GeneralEducation Program, this year's exam has reduced 1 question on practical problems.

The highlight is that the exam will include new practical math problems about probability and statistics, increasing practicality.

Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Quoc Bao stated that in the 2018 Program, from grade 6 students have been familiarized with practical math.

In the periodic tests of each grade, teachers always mention practical math problems at an appropriate level. As for the knowledge of probability and statistics, students have learned it from grade 7 at a basic level, by grade 8 they start calculating at a moderate level and by grade 9, the knowledge mentioned is not too difficult.

However, he also said that the practical problems about statistical probability in the exam will only be at the purely applied level, within the secondary school curriculum that students learn.

According to the Department's leaders, the problems posed in practical problems will not require too high a level of knowledge, nor will they pose problems that are too strange, esoteric, or far from reality.

However, to do this, it is important that students understand the practical problems posed in the question, think, and apply the knowledge they have learned to calculate and solve the practical problems of the question.
