Many parents whose children are in the same class also work together to find and organize useful activities for their children to participate in during the summer.
Summer classes start
Although it is summer vacation, the English class schedule of Do Duong Khang (living in Tan Hiep ward, Bien Hoa city) is still the same. Because Khang's family determined that he should study English not only to get high scores in the exam, but also to practice all 4 skills of listening - speaking - reading - writing so that he can use them later. In addition to English, Khang's mother also registered a schedule for 2 subjects Math and Literature for him.
Khang's mother shared: "I chose to let my child study Math with a teacher near home so that he can go to school by himself. Studying with a teacher outside may not get him as high a score as studying with a teacher in charge of the subject in class, but it will reflect his ability more accurately."
During the summer, many parents have the option of letting their children study online. The advantage of these courses is that they are flexible in terms of time and do not have to arrange for pick-up and drop-off. Parents are also quite satisfied with the quality. However, to avoid being scammed, parents need to research carefully and verify before registering.
Like Khang, many students have had their summer classes scheduled by their parents right after the end of the school year. Most summer tutors receive registration lists and notify parents of class schedules so they can prepare. Summer cultural classes usually start in mid-June or early July, after students complete their enrollment registration.
In addition to the three subjects: Math, Literature, English, many 9th grade students in the 2025-2026 school year also register to study Natural Science. Because according to regulations, the 10th grade entrance exam has two compulsory subjects: Math, Literature and a third subject or exam chosen by the Departmentof Education and Training. This third subject can change every year and must ensure that the same subject is not chosen for more than 3 consecutive years.
Take advantage of summer vacation to practice skills for your children
Besides talent courses, cultural studies, and participating in sports activities to improve health, many parents take advantage of summer vacation to train their children's skills.
Ms. Pham Thi Thuan (residing in Long Binh ward, Bien Hoa city) said that she lets her son participate in charity programs and community activities. She hopes that these activities will help her son understand more about life, to know that there are many people in difficult circumstances in society. Through this, she will cultivate in her son the spirit of sharing, for the community, helping him have more will and determination in life.
Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet (residing in Thanh Phu commune, Vinh Cuu district) chose to let her child participate in the Military Semester Program. According to Ms. Tuyet, a week in the "military environment" will not change her child's habits, nor will it be difficult to train her child's discipline. However, this time can help her child have interesting experiences and gain a basic understanding of the life of a soldier. Ms. Tuyet believes that a week of military semester will bring her child many unforgettable memories.
Depending on conditions, some parents do not let their children participate in summer courses or extracurricular activities, but stay at home and assign tasks, thereby training their children's skills. Depending on their age, children are instructed to do housework: washing dishes, sweeping the floor, cooking, hanging clothes, etc. Along with that, children are also required to read books, exercise, and play sports. With this option, parents must regularly "monitor" and remind their children through cameras installed in the house.
