On the afternoon of June 13, in Hue city, the Organizing Committee of the Miss Vietnam 2024 contest held a press conference to officially announce information about the postponement of the final night, scheduled to take place on the evening of June 14.
Speaking at the press conference, Tien Phong Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Phung Cong Suong, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest, said this was the first time in the 37-year history of the 18th edition that the Miss Vietnam finale had to adjust its time due to unusual stormy weather.
The Organizing Committee has held many meetings and has come to the difficult decision to postpone the final night to a more suitable time, which will be announced later. The Organizing Committee hopes to receive the understanding and sympathy of the audience and related parties.
According to the Organizing Committee, the contestants will temporarily return home and wait for further notice.
Regarding the quality of the contestants, the Board of Judges highly appreciated the maturity of the 25 contestants in the final round. After more than a month of preparation, the contestants have made remarkable progress in appearance, knowledge and behavioral skills, ready to shine in the final night.
Previously, on the afternoon of June 12, the organizing unit urgently dismantled and relocated sound and lighting equipment from the stage area on the banks of the Huong River, where the final night was scheduled to take place, due to the complicated developments of heavy rain and rising floodwaters on the Huong River.
The Organizing Committee commits to reserve all rights of the audience who have purchased tickets to watch the final night. For the audience who cannot attend due to force majeure, the Organizing Committee will refund according to the current ticket distribution policy.
The 2024 Miss Vietnam contest awards prizes including: Miss Vietnam crown and 500 million VND for the winner; 1st runner-up receives the crown and 300 million VND; 2nd runner-up receives the crown and 250 million VND.
In addition, the contest also awarded the titles: Most Voted Beauty, Charity Ambassador, Tourism and Environment Ambassador, Media and Arts Ambassador, Sports and Fashion Ambassador, each prize worth 50 million VND.
The Miss Vietnam 2024 contest is organized by Tien Phong newspaper and Hoang Thanh Media Joint Stock Company in coordination with the People's Committee of Hue city and the Hue Monuments Conservation Center./.
