On the afternoon of June 14, at the infirmary of Sinh Ton island, Truong Sa district, Khanh Hoa province, fisherman Pham Van Minh (born in 1985, permanent resident of Binh Minh commune, Thang Binh district, Quang Nam province), a crew member on fishing boat QN 95489-TS, had a work accident and was given timely first aid.
Specifically, at around 6am the same day, while working on a fishing boat, Mr. Minh slipped and fell, hitting his right knee on the wooden floor and unable to stand up. Mr. Minh was given first aid by the crew on the boat and taken to the island at 2pm.
Through examination and X-ray, the doctor determined that Mr. Minh had a broken right patella, a large displaced fragment of 3cm, a large amount of blood in the knee joint with a serious prognosis, so early surgery was needed.
Military doctors from Brigade 146, Naval Region 4 performed surgery, drained fluid, fixed it with a cast, and ordered continued monitoring and treatment for Minh at the island's infirmary.
Since the beginning of the year, Sinh Ton Island's military medical force has provided emergency treatment to 12 fishermen in distress at sea.

Most recently, on the night of June 7, military doctors at Truong Sa Town Medical Center performed emergency surgery to remove the appendix of fisherman Tran Cong Nhanh (50 years old, residing in Binh Minh commune, Thang Binh district, Quang Nam province) - a crew member on fishing boat QNa 94952-TS./.
