Bright spot in Hanoi, district supports district to build new rural areas, Phu Xuyen district receives more than 36 billion VND since the beginning of the year

Recently, the Steering Committee of Program No. 04-CTr/TU of the Hanoi Party Committee (17th term) on "Promoting the effective implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Development (NTM) associated with restructuring the agricultural sector and developing the rural economy , improving the material and spiritual life of farmers in the period 2021-2025" held a conference to review the results of the second quarter and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2024.

Reporting on the results of the first 6 months of the year, Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Dai said that up to now, the city has 75 more communes recognized as meeting advanced NTM standards and 48 communes recognized as meeting model NTM standards, bringing the total number of communes meeting advanced NTM standards to 186 communes and 68 communes meeting model NTM standards...

In June, the city assessed 2 more communes eligible to meet advanced NTM standards and 8 communes eligible to meet model NTM standards.

The total mobilized budget for the implementation of the New Rural Development Program in the first 6 months of 2024 is over 19,000 billion VND. Of which, the city budget is 36%, the district budget is 59%, the commune budget is 1.9%, and capital mobilized outside the state budget is 2%.

From 2021 to present, 10 districts in the city have supported districts to build new rural areas with a total budget of 867 billion VND.

In the first 6 months of the year alone, Phu Xuyen district received support from 2 districts: Bac Tu Liem 30.7 billion VND and Hai Ba Trung 5.5 billion VND.

In the plan for the last months of the year, the city strives to have 4 districts: Gia Lam, Thanh Tri, Hoai Duc, Dong Anh recognized as meeting advanced NTM standards in 2023 by July; strives to have 3 more districts: Dan Phuong, Thanh Oai, Thuong Tin recognized as meeting advanced NTM standards in 2024 by the end of 2024; the city has at least 40 more communes meeting advanced NTM standards; 35 communes meeting model NTM standards.

According to Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen, for the city to reach the finish line of building a new rural area, Hanoi needs to have 20% of its districts meet advanced new rural standards. To achieve this goal, the city needs to have at least 4 districts meet advanced new rural standards.

In addition, there are 7 other targets that need to be achieved. Among them, we must strive to bring farmers' income to 75 million VND/person/year, which is a very high target (in 2023 it will only be 66 million VND, an increase of 9 million VND/year is very high).

Ms. Tuyen said that by 2024, the city will strive to complete 7 communes meeting advanced NTM standards, thereby helping the city reach the new rural area completion goal, which is also completing an important target stated in the Resolution of the 17th City Party Congress.
