Dien Bien: Power restored to people in flash flood and landslide areas

Making efforts to overcome difficulties and terrain conditions, by 9:40 p.m. on August 3, Dien Bien Power Company had completed the restoration of damaged power infrastructure to restore power to the entire affected area in the communes of Dien Bien Dong (old) area, Dien Bien province.

Mr. Tran Duc Dung, Director of Dien Bien Power Company, said: The recent flash floods and landslides in the highland communes of Xa Dung, Tia Dinh, Na Son, Phinh Giang... have seriously affected the power infrastructure.

The transportation of equipment and means to fix electrical problems is mainly done by human power by workers of Dien Bien Power Company.

The most severely affected area was Xa Dung commune, where 3 medium-voltage grid locations, 8 low-voltage grid locations, and 1 transformer station were recorded; the communes of Tia Dinh, Xa Dung, Na Son, and Muong Luan suffered a complete power outage. Statistics show that 8,960 customers in the entire area lost power.

As soon as the flash flood occurred, Dien Bien Power Company directed to increase workers, equipment, and vehicles to the areas to focus on overcoming the situation.

After more than two days, the company has completed flood damage repair, restoring power to 8,960/8,960 customers (100%). As for households whose houses were swept away by the flood, the electricity industry has proactively separated the wires behind the meter to ensure absolute safety.
