Brighton demanded a whopping £120 million fee to "sneak away" MU in the Baleba case. However, that tough stance did not make the Red Devils waver.

According to The Independent, the Manchester club are looking to put together a payment package, with an initial fee to be paid to Brighton of £80m. The remaining amount will be added on to add-ons.

Carlos Baleba is the striker that the Ineos team wants to bring to Old Trafford to increase the strength of the midfield.

There have been concerns that United will breach the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules (PSR) after spending £200m on Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.

However, everything seems to be overblown. The Red Devils are still on the right track, because the payment structure in each deal is spread out and flexible.

Coach Ruben Amorim is not confident about the midfield, even when pulling captain Bruno Fernandes back to play with Casemiro or Manuel Ugarte.

The Portuguese coach expects a mobile midfielder with abundant physical strength and can handle the task of carrying the ball and intercepting well like Baleba.

Carlos Baleba is another example of Brighton's impressive recruitment system, arriving at the Amex for £25m to replace Moises Caicedo who joined Chelsea in the summer of 2023.

With his remarkable progress, Baleba's value has increased at least three times after just two seasons serving Brighton.
