Le Hien Hanh - the disabled girl who attracted attention in the movie "Island of the Immigrants".

Le Hien Hanh was born in 1987, from Da Nang . After an accident at the age of 3, she became paralyzed in both legs. She attracted attention when she played the role of Ngoc Thanh Tam in the movie Dao cua dan ngu cu (The Island of the Refugees ) directed by Hong Anh.

Hien Hanh’s performance on the big screen was loved by the audience. Many commented that it was her silent role that made the film so realistic, specifically her legs that left a curious, impressive, and even “haunting” impression on the audience.

Hong Anh said that on the first day they met, Hien Hanh was introduced as coming from the disabled sports team in Da Nang.

The actress will always remember the image of a girl in a wheelchair, her legs were not intact due to an accident but her eyes were bright, her skin was white as cotton, and her voice was full of vitality.

Hien Hanh is an athlete and single mother who overcame adversity and stood up with her own determination.

“On set, she was not only a stunt double but also a source of energy for the entire crew. During that time, I saw her always happy, her face always radiant because she was in love,” Hong Anh recalled.

During filming days, there was always a guy quietly waiting for Hanh at the set, carrying her to and from work every day. No fanfare, no noise, just simple love and respect. After many years together, they got married last year.

"And then I saw you happily as a bride, with a family, a baby girl about to be born. But then this morning you broke up, leaving this world shortly after your daughter was born. I was in pain, shocked, and couldn't believe it," actress Hong Anh choked up.

Despite her sudden and painful passing, Hong Anh believes Hien Hanh will forever remain in the hearts of the film crew and the memories of those who touched her positive life energy during her lifetime.
