Busy week for the National Assembly, discussing the term of office of the President and the Government

During the 7th working week, 10th session, the National Assembly discussed and passed many important bills and issues. The work reports of the President, Government, courts, and procuracy will be discussed.

On the morning of December 3, the National Assembly will discuss a summary report on the implementation by members of the Government, the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy, and the State Auditor General of the resolutions of the 14th and 15th National Assembly terms on thematic supervision and questioning.

The National Assembly will spend all day on December 4 discussing the work reports for the 2021-2026 term of the President and the Government.

In addition, delegates will discuss the draft report on the 15th term of the National Assembly; the 15th term work reports of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Ethnic Council , the National Assembly committees, the State Audit; and the 2021-2026 term work reports of the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuracy.

Tomorrow, the National Assembly will discuss draft resolutions and investment policies related to protecting, caring for and improving people's health, and improving the quality of education and training. All of the above contents will be broadcast live on radio and television.

This week, the National Assembly will also discuss the draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Geology and Minerals, the draft Law on Digital Transformation, the draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Citizen Reception, the Law on Complaints, the Law on Denunciations, and the draft Resolution of the National Assembly stipulating a number of mechanisms and policies to remove difficulties and obstacles in organizing the implementation of the Land Law.

The National Assembly will vote to pass the Law on State of Emergency, the Law on Judicial Expertise (amended), the Law on Enforcement of Civil Judgments (amended), and the Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Judicial Records.

Exemplary pioneer government

At the beginning of the session on October 20, reporting to the National Assembly on the work of the 2021-2026 term , President Luong Cuong said that the President, together with key leaders, the Politburo and the Central Committee, fully implemented the full-term and annual work program; decided on important domestic and foreign policies and guidelines; led, inspected and supervised the implementation of the Party's resolutions, conclusions and directives.

The President has chaired and directed relevant agencies to successfully develop a number of large and important projects to submit to the Central Government.

The President, together with the Politburo, directed the development and approval of many large and important projects; together with the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Executive Committee, led and resolutely directed the arrangement and reorganization of the two-level local government organization.

President Luong Cuong shared that he always pays close attention to all aspects of the country's situation, especially the lives of the people. The President regularly travels to the grassroots, visits and works in many localities to grasp the practical situation, directly inspects, directs, and suggests solutions to carry out local tasks...

As Head of the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform, the President has directed the implementation of judicial reform tasks in the spirit of the 13th Party Congress Resolution.

In his capacity as Chairman of the National Defense and Security Council and Commander of the People's Armed Forces, the President chaired six meetings of the council, discussing 16 important and strategically significant contents and topics related to Vietnam's defense, security, and foreign affairs...

During his term, the President made many visits to inspect the training and combat readiness of key units and areas; always paid attention to consolidating and promoting the strength of great national unity in the cause of innovation and international integration.

Meanwhile, reviewing the outstanding results of the term , Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that in the context of "generally more difficulties and challenges than opportunities and advantages", our country has achieved and exceeded 22/26 main economic and social targets, approximately reaching 2 targets, of which all social and social security targets have been exceeded. In 2024 and 2025, all 15/15 socio-economic targets will be achieved and exceeded.

Vietnam's economy has proven its resilience to external shocks, maintaining one of the highest growth rates in the world. GDP this year is expected to increase by over 8%; the average growth rate in the 2021-2025 period is 6.3%, higher than the previous term (6.2%).

Three strategic breakthroughs were implemented vigorously and effectively, opening up space and creating development. Law-making and enforcement were innovated in both thinking and working methods, and many “bottlenecks” were promptly removed.

The infrastructure system has developed dramatically with many large-scale, modern projects that are connected, widespread and shaping the future. By the end of this year, the country is expected to complete 3,245km of expressways (exceeding the target of 3,000km) and 1,711km of coastal roads (exceeding the target of 1,700km); basically complete the first phase of Long Thanh International Airport with 4F standards in Vietnam; put into operation belt routes and urban railways.

Many backlogged projects that had lasted for many years were resolutely handled, achieving positive results, contributing to freeing up resources for development. Along with that, the Government removed obstacles and put into production and business nearly 1,200 projects with a total value of 675,000 billion VND.

The Government is directing the review, classification, and proposal to competent authorities to continue handling nearly 3,000 projects with total capital of millions of billions of VND and land use scale of hundreds of thousands of hectares.

Another outstanding result mentioned by the Prime Minister is that policies on meritorious people, social security, and poverty reduction have been comprehensively implemented and achieved many outstanding results with the spirit of "leaving no one behind".
