Also attending the conference were representatives of city departments and branches, a number of Vietnamese enterprises and many guests from the local Vietnamese community.

In his opening speech, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Mr. Duong Hoai Nam, reviewed the overview of the Vietnamese business community in the Czech Republic, one of the communities with a high level of integration and stability in Europe. The Ambassador emphasized that the official upgrading of the relationship between Vietnam and the Czech Republic to a Strategic Partnership after the visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in early 2025 has created an important premise, opening a new phase of cooperation in many potential areas, especially trade, investment and business connection.
Representative of the Vietnamese business community in the Czech Republic, Mr. Giang Thanh, Vice President of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Czech Republic, said that the community currently has about 100,000 people, of which 60,000 have long-term residence cards and more than 30,000 have Czech citizenship. About 95% of the community operates in the business sector, forming a class of dynamic entrepreneurs, capable of adapting quickly and gradually asserting their position in the local society.
Sharing about the business environment, Mr. Nguyen Thai Ngoc, Chairman of the Vietnamese Business Association in the Czech Republic, said that the Czech Republic has a stable and transparent legal environment and business conditions, bringing more advantages than some neighboring markets such as Russia or Ukraine, especially in the context of the economic and political fluctuations in Europe in recent years.

At the conference, businessman Nguyen Van Duc, one of the Vietnamese businessmen with outstanding business activities in the Czech Republic, shared his success story in the bilateral investment process. He participated in the development of the Saigon Aquarium project in Vietnam before expanding to the construction materials exploitation sector in the Czech Republic. Currently, his enterprise accounts for about 85% of the market share of sand and gravel supply in Prague and 65% in the entire Czech Republic, demonstrating the competitiveness and ability to seize opportunities of Vietnamese enterprises in the European market.
In his keynote speech, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Tien Chau introduced Hai Phong's development strategy in the new period with the vision of becoming an international industrial, logistics and service center of Northern Vietnam. With the advantages of deep-water seaports, modern transport infrastructure, abundant clean land in industrial parks and competitive incentive policies, Hai Phong is aiming to strongly attract foreign investment capital associated with technological innovation, environmental protection and high added value.
Mr. Le Trung Kien, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee and Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, emphasized that Hai Phong wishes to strengthen cooperation with Czech enterprises in many fields, including processing and manufacturing industry, high technology, clean energy, logistics, precision mechanics and pharmaceuticals. He affirmed that Hai Phong is committed to accompanying and providing maximum support to international investors through administrative procedure reform, digital transformation and ensuring synchronous and modern industrial infrastructure.

Representing Hai Phong’s business sector, Mr. Dang Thanh Tam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation, stated that Hai Phong – the third largest city in the country – is attracting great attention from international industrial and service enterprises. He proposed to study the Hai Phong Trade Center model in the Czech Republic to promote local products, support businesses to access the European market and promote bilateral trade promotion activities. He said that businesses are ready to accompany and contribute resources to this initiative.
Concluding the conference, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Tien Chau expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Vietnamese business community in the Czech Republic. He affirmed that every Vietnamese person abroad is a "people's ambassador", contributing to promoting the image of the country, building trust and expanding cooperation opportunities for Vietnamese businesses. With the spirit of solidarity, integration and development aspirations, he believes that the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic will continue to succeed and become an important bridge between Hai Phong in particular, Vietnam in general with the Czech Republic and the European region.
