Báo Dân tríBáo Dân trí03/03/2025

(Dan Tri) - After more than a year of driving a motorbike taxi, Mr. Duong Xuan Cau encountered a "half-laughing, half-crying" situation for the first time when a customer was on her way to give birth and refused to accept the drink she ordered.

A clip recording the process of a technology motorbike taxi (shipper) delivering drinks to a customer in labor in Hanoi suddenly attracted the attention of the online community.

After 3 calls, the customer finally answered the phone and said: "Honey, I'm giving birth, no one is home. My order has been paid, I'll give it to you."

Holding 3 cups of milk tea in his hand, the male driver came up with the idea of giving them back to the scrap collector and street vendor. This action of the driver received a "shower" of praise from the online community about "the way of giving is better than what you give".

The shipper in this story is Mr. Duong Xuan Cau (from Nam Dinh ). On March 2, he received an order of 3 cups of milk tea to a customer on Thien Hien Street (My Dinh Ward, Hanoi).

When he arrived at the delivery address, Mr. Cau immediately called the customer. The phone rang on the other end, but no one answered.

"At first, I was worried when the customer didn't answer the phone. However, this order was paid in advance, so I wasn't worried about being canceled," the male driver shared.

Patiently waiting, Mr. Cau continued to make a second phone call after 3 minutes. The customer answered the phone, but instead of a conversation, there were strange sounds and then the phone was hung up.

At that time, he said that anyone in the situation he encountered would be shocked. After that, he still persisted in calling the customer back.

When they answered the phone, he learned that the customer was on her way to give birth and could not receive the goods. Therefore, she gave him back 3 cups of milk tea that she had ordered earlier.

"Because I don't have the habit of drinking milk tea, I decided to give these drinks to passersby like street vendors and scrap collectors," Mr. Cau told about a special case he encountered during his career.

When he gave this cup of milk tea to someone else, he also felt happy when he received smiles and thanks from strangers.

After more than a year of driving a motorbike taxi, this is the most memorable delivery case for him. He received 16,000 VND for that order in shipping costs. However, his working day that day was more joyful and meaningful.

Before deciding to become a motorbike taxi driver, Mr. Cau was a salesman for a clothing and cosmetics company. He has been with the company since graduating from university and has also been trusted with a management role.

"However, the business situation was difficult, income was unstable while the job was stressful and had many targets, so I decided to stop," Mr. Cau shared.

When choosing to drive a motorbike taxi, he had to think and consider a lot. The male driver also considered having to "expose himself to the sun and rain", selling his labor instead of wearing neat clothes and working in air conditioning like before.

Moreover, many of his relatives also objected when he decided to become a motorbike taxi driver. In addition to earning more than 10 million VND/month, this job helps him be more proactive with his time.

"Even though people forbid it, my life is my choice. Therefore, I decided to change direction to driving. In my free time, I also have the opportunity to learn more and carry out new plans that I have planned for the near future," said the male driver.

In addition to driving a motorbike taxi, he also diligently records videos of his daily work journey. From there, he has the materials to build a TikTok channel for himself to carry out upcoming plans.
