On December 22, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) announced that it has just sent an official dispatch to the Departments of Education and Training, providing guidance on implementing innovation in testing and assessment for junior high and high school levels.
Accordingly, for subjects assessed by comments combined with scores, the Ministry of Education and Training requests that the Departments of Education and Training guide high schooleducational institutions to develop matrices, specifications, test questions and instructions for marking periodic tests, ensuring professional and technical requirements; to be implemented from the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year.
From the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year, the new matrix for periodic testing of subjects assessed by scores such as math, physics, chemistry, and biology will include 4 parts: multiple choice test (3 points); true/false test (2 points); short answer test (2 points) and essay (3 points).
Thus, in the objective test (7 points), students must solve the following types of questions: multiple choice (3 points); true-false (2 points); short answer (2 points).

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, with "true-false" questions, each question will include 4 sub-ideas, each of which the student must choose true or false. With "Short Answer" questions, subjects that do not use this format will transfer all points to the "true-false" format.
The Ministry of Education and Training requests that the Departments of Education and Training, based on the content of training for core teachers, organize training for managers and teachers at educational institutions implementing general education programs in their management areas.
