To prepare the most comprehensive and thoughtful content for the important event, Ha Tinh province has decided to change The time to hold the 260th anniversary of the birth of Great Poet Nguyen Du (1765 - 2025) has been changed to the end of December 2025, instead of being held in November 2025 as previously announced.

Regarding the name of the celebration, Mr. Tran Xuan Luong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said: The official name of the celebration was adjusted to "Celebration of the 260th anniversary of the birth of Great Poet Nguyen Du (1765 - 2025)".

According to information from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, previously, in Notice No. 25-TU/TB, dated November 11, 2025 of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee "Announcement of the Conclusion of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, at the meeting on November 10, 2025", the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee concluded: Basically agreeing on the related contents on organizing the Ceremony to celebrate the 260th anniversary of the birth and commemorate the 205th anniversary of the death of the great poet Nguyen Du according to Official Dispatch No. 118-CV/DU dated November 7, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee "Regarding asking for opinions on a number of related contents on organizing the Ceremony to celebrate the 260th anniversary of the birth and commemorate the 205th anniversary of the death of the great poet Nguyen Du".

According to Official Dispatch No. 118-CV/DU dated November 7, 2025 of the Provincial Party Committee, the venue for the celebration is Thanh Sen Square (Thanh Sen Ward, Ha Tinh Province). The dispatch also proposed to adjust the name of the program to: "Celebration of the 260th anniversary of the birth of Great Poet Nguyen Du (1765 - 2025)".

The celebration will be held at the end of December 2025. The official celebration program will include: celebration speeches, speeches by leaders at all levels, and special art programs.

Along with the main ceremony, the anniversary also organized various cultural activities such as: Folk art performances associated with Nguyen Du and Truyen Kieu; exhibitions and displays of publications about Nguyen Du, Truyen Kieu and Ha Tinh culture...

The Calligraphy Contest on The Tale of Kieu organized by Tien Dien commune aims to celebrate the 260th anniversary of the birth of the great poet Nguyen Du.

The event is expected to welcome hundreds of official delegates, including Central delegates, guests from provinces and cities, artists, researchers, press agencies and local delegates.

The celebration is an occasion to honor the life, career and great contributions of the Great Poet Nguyen Du to Vietnamese and world literature and culture; to educate cultural traditions and national pride for generations, especially the young generation.

This is also an activity in response to UNESCO's honor for the Great Poet Nguyen Du. At the same time, it promotes and introduces the cultural values ​​of Ha Tinh homeland to the people of the whole country and international friends.
