Love of heritage from donated space

While in many places the theft and digging of antiquities is happening, and the so-called “antiques” are sought after by many collectors and traders, many people think that this call for donations is just a formality. Because no one would donate such valuable things, except for unusual people.

But the results were contrary to many people's speculations. The spaces for donating and receiving relics and antiques organized by Thanh Hoa Provincial Museum, either regularly or unexpectedly on the occasion of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23), were very crowded. The crowds did not only come from people who were interested and curious about how many people would donate and what they would donate; but the donation spaces actually became a meeting place for those who love antiques and are "generous" to the public.

Among the antique collectors and keepers who stepped up to the podium to receive the artifacts organized by Thanh Hoa Provincial Museum recently on the occasion of Cultural Heritage Day 2024, along with many faces donating artifacts for the first time, were very familiar faces, including an antique collector who had donated more than 10 times.

10 times of donation, and each time only one artifact will have 10 owners change hands. Artifacts and memorabilia that collectors painstakingly collected, even spent money to buy, have been transferred to a more solemn space, more public. And of course, their value will increase many times.

We often hear about antique collectors who own hundreds of artifacts. But they usually keep them carefully or display them in a private space, only accessible to a small group of people of the same sex.

There are also opinions that donated artifacts are often of little value and cannot be exchanged, so they are donated to museums. Furthermore, donors want to use these forums to become more famous for other purposes.

Behind the story of donating artifacts, of course, each person pursues a different purpose. Please do not discuss the real value of the donated artifacts and the purpose of the donor. Just the spirit of donating in accordance with the law is already very valuable. In the space of receiving and donating artifacts, the unit in need has been accepted and the person with the heart has also been given. Although Thanh Hoa province has invested a significant amount of budget every year for Thanh Hoa Provincial Museum to buy artifacts for display and research, the donation will contribute to making the collection of artifacts richer and more diverse, providing more historical documents and different perspectives to attract visitors. That spirit is greater than all, placed above all speculation. We appreciate the donated artifacts and the hearts of the donors. Another Cultural Heritage Day is returning in the anticipation of heritage lovers and the hope that the spirit of donation and reception will continue to be fostered, so that Thanh culture through the artifacts of Thanh Hoa Provincial Museum will become increasingly rich, contributing to historical and cultural research and attracting tourists .
