Delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam works in Guangdong province of China

Within the framework of the visit and work in China from June 11 to 15, the delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, visited and worked in Guangdong province, China.

According to VNA correspondent in China, on the afternoon of June 14, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia met with Mr. Hoang Khon Minh, Politburo member and Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia expressed his deep impression of the dynamic and comprehensive development in all fields, especially the economy of Guangdong province.

Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia informed about the results of meetings and talks with senior Chinese leaders in Beijing; emphasizing that Guangdong is not only geographically close but also has a deep historical connection with Vietnam, and is always the leading locality in the fields of economic and trade cooperation in the overall picture of Vietnam-China cooperation.

Discussing the direction of promoting cooperation between the two countries as well as relations with Guangdong province, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested that both sides strengthen propaganda on the friendly neighborly relations and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and the two States; between Guangdong province and ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam; support and facilitate information, propaganda, trade promotion, investment attraction and tourism promotion activities of Vietnamese localities, agencies, organizations and enterprises in Guangdong; promote cooperation, introduce and promote typical cultural, literary and artistic values of Vietnam to the people of Guangdong province; promote people-to-people exchange activities and cooperation between media partners, press and publishing agencies of Guangdong province and functional agencies of Vietnam, contributing to consolidating a more solid social foundation.

Mr. Hoang Khon Minh expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia; highly appreciated the historical developments of the Vietnam-China cooperative relationship in general and the positive results in economic, trade, investment and tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Guangdong province; informed about the economic, cultural and social situation of Guangdong province; said that he supports and promotes large enterprises of Guangdong to increase investment cooperation in Vietnam as well as wishes to create all favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to invest and do business in Guangdong.

Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee Hoang Khon Minh thanked Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia for his sentiments and appreciation of the special role of Guangdong province in the overall picture of the traditional cooperative relationship between Vietnam and China, not only in the previous revolutionary struggle period but also in the cause of building socialism today; emphasizing that Guangdong always pays attention to preserving and carefully conserving relics related to President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnamese revolutionary predecessors, especially the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association Relic Site and the tomb of Martyr Pham Hong Thai.

Previously, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia visited and worked with Phuong Nam Press Media Group, the largest multimedia media agency in Guangdong province.

On June 15, the delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam visited the tomb of Martyr Pham Hong Thai and visited the memorial site of the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association Headquarters at No. 13 (now 248-250) Van Minh Street, Guangzhou.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia and the delegation were especially moved to revisit the place where President Ho Chi Minh, under the name Nguyen Ai Quoc at that time, opened training classes on political theory and practical struggle for the first generations of patriotic youth of the Vietnamese revolution.

Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia respectfully thanked the Party, Government and people of China, especially the Provincial Party Committee and government of Guangdong and Guangzhou city for preserving and developing this relic site, a symbol of traditional friendship, solidarity and attachment between the two Parties, two countries and people of Vietnam and China./.
