Delegation of Hanoi city offers incense to pay tribute to heroic martyrs in Dien Bien province

On the morning of May 15, the Hanoi City Delegation, including representatives of the Hanoi Department of Home Affairs, the City Veterans Association, etc., offered incense at the Martyrs' Temple and martyrs' cemeteries in Dien Bien.

This is one of Hanoi 's activities towards the 71st anniversary of the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2025), offering incense at national martyrs' cemeteries with many Hanoi martyrs' graves in Dien Bien province.

The activity is also part of the activities towards the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), to pay tribute to the contributions and sacrifices of heroic martyrs and those who have contributed to the country, therebyeducating revolutionary traditions, patriotism, national pride, and raising the sense of responsibility of all levels, sectors and people of the capital in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Continuing to carry out activities towards the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, in the coming time, Hanoi will establish delegations to visit a number of historical revolutionary sites, offer incense at national martyrs' cemeteries with many Hanoi martyrs' graves in provinces and cities. Along with that, the city also pays special attention to implementing policies for people with revolutionary contributions.

This year, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Plan No. 92/KH-UBND dated April 6, 2025 on organizing activities to celebrate the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, setting the goal of mobilizing the "Repaying gratitude" Fund to reach 21.87 billion VND, donating 1,102 "gratitude" savings books (the lowest savings book level is 3 million VND/book); repairing and upgrading 28 works honoring martyrs; supporting the repair and upgrading of houses for 149 households of meritorious people.

Along with that, the city organized visits, meetings and gifts for people with meritorious services; units that take care of people with meritorious services in and outside the city, and production and business units of war invalids and sick soldiers.

On April 29, the Hanoi People's Council also approved a regulation to spend the city budget to support the level of spending on gift-giving policies for beneficiaries of policies for people with meritorious services on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) of Hanoi, with an amount of VND 381.816 billion. In particular, the City People's Council agreed to issue a regulation on special support policies for people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of people with meritorious services who are receiving monthly allowances from Hanoi, with a monthly allowance of VND 1,500,000/person/month, effective from July 1, 2025.
