Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board Le Trung Kien informed from Korea this morning (June 13) that at the headquarters of the Korean International Trade Association (KITA) in Seoul, the Hai Phong delegation led by Mr. Le Tien Chau, Secretary of the City Party Committee, presented investment registration certificates for newly granted projects and capital increase adjustments to Korean enterprises.
These projects have a total investment of up to 230 million USD.
They are Bumhan Vina Heavy Industries - Nam Dinh Vu Project, Haewon Vina Co., Ltd., Hala Electronics Vina Co., Ltd., EST Vina HaiPhong Co., Ltd.
Hai Phong leaders also signed investment cooperation agreements between Korean enterprises and the locality, with committed capital of up to 1.5 billion USD.

According to the leaders of Hai Phong City, Korea is a country with comprehensive, practical and effective economic and trade cooperation, and is a leading important partner of the city.
With its strengths in high-tech manufacturing, production of electrical and electronic products, chips and semiconductors, logistics, renewable energy, waste treatment, etc., Korea continues to be considered a key market and a driving force for attracting investment in Hai Phong in the coming time.
On June 12, Hai Phong City coordinated with the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) to organize the Hai Phong - Korea Investment and Trade Promotion Conference 2023. The event lasted 4 days, with the participation of more than 150 enterprises and economic organizations of the neighboring country.
At the conference, large Korean enterprises that have successfully invested also shared their experiences to inspire confidence in new enterprises intending to enter Hai Phong.
Hai Phong Party Secretary Le Tien Chau affirmed that he will continue to promote comprehensive cooperation so that Korean investors can participate in fields such as smart city construction, e-government, renewable energy, semiconductor manufacturing, infrastructure and urban development, hospital and school construction, etc., creating an ecosystem of Korean enterprises in Hai Phong.
Hai Phong is strongly committed to improving the business investment environment, building regional transport infrastructure, focusing on accelerating the development of new industrial parks to create large land funds ready to welcome investors.
Currently, South Korea has invested 81.5 billion USD in Vietnam, of which Hai Phong accounts for nearly 10 billion USD (12% of the country), focusing mainly on clean industry sectors.
In 2022, the total export turnover through Hai Phong port to the Korean market will reach 12.3 billion USD, the total import turnover through Hai Phong port from the Korean market will reach 7.8 billion USD.
Korea is the leading country in both the number of projects and investment capital out of 42 countries and territories registered to invest in Hai Phong.
