Due to continuous heavy rain over the past few days, most localities in Khanh Hoa province are flooded 2-3 meters deep. Rescue work is being carried out urgently and drastically, using all means.

People in Tay Nha Trang ward were evacuated from flooded areas by authorities.

From November 19 to 20, floodwaters on Cai River Nha Trang rose rapidly, causing deep flooding in the residential area of ​​Tay Nha Trang ward, communes along Cai River Khanh Hoa . Local authorities increased forces to rescue people flooded at night.

The Region 4 Command mobilized 21 vehicles of various types, 13 rescue boats and 387 officers and soldiers carrying a lot of specialized materials and equipment to the heavily flooded areas. The force quickly approached each vulnerable point, bringing dozens of isolated households to safety.

In heavily affected areas such as Tay Nha Trang ward, Dien Khanh, Cam Lam and Suoi Dau, the Navy Region 4 force quickly deployed rescue boats and specialized vehicles to each vulnerable point. Officers and soldiers continuously carried out the task of evacuating people, especially the elderly, children and pregnant women, from dangerous areas; at the same time, they supported setting up temporary shelters, moving assets, providing dry food, clean water and life jackets to isolated areas.

Colonel Nguyen Van Tho, Deputy Chief of Staff, Naval Region 4 Command, Commander of the Naval Region 4 rescue force shared: “The most important thing at this time is to ensure the safety of people's lives. The force is always ready to mobilize day and night, closely coordinating with local authorities to respond as quickly as possible”. With the rescue force on site, the units quickly coordinated to respond promptly.

Lieutenant Colonel Vu Anh Tu, Head of Nha Trang Port Border Guard Station (Khanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard) said that previously, the unit was assigned to directly respond to and support people affected by floods in Nam Nha Trang ward.

Receiving orders to support Tay Nha Trang ward at night, the unit increased forces and military to rescue people. The unit prioritized rescuing people in high-risk areas, then all people in flooded areas. "In the situation of rapid water rise, many people were isolated, since last night (November 19), we called on forces and means of the people, especially businesses operating in the tourism sector with canoes and basket boats to support rescuing people", Lieutenant Colonel Vu Anh Tu, Head of Nha Trang Port Border Guard Station shared.

Many organizations and units join hands with authorities with the desire to bring as many people in flooded areas to safety.

Mr. Le Van Thanh is a freelancer. His family owns small boats. This time, he has requisitioned and used them to rescue people in the area of ​​23/10 Street, from Tay Nha Trang Ward to Dien Khanh Commune. Mr. Thanh said that many people are still trapped in the flood area. Many families are waiting on their rooftops for rescue by the authorities. He called on the community to have vehicles that can carry people to join in the rescue.

Mr. Trinh Minh Hoang, Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, has just inspected the flooded area of ​​Tay Nha Trang ward and said that the situation in the old Vinh Thanh, Vinh Trung, Vinh Ngoc areas is currently very difficult to access the flooded people. The reason is due to the complex terrain, the flooded area is alleys, small hamlets, boats have difficulty approaching households. Currently, Khanh Hoa province's rescue forces are doing their best to rescue and bring people to safety.

Previously, the total rainfall in the province from November 16 to 6:00 a.m. on November 20 was generally 200 - 400mm, especially in the mountainous areas of Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh, it was 400 - 600mm, with some stations receiving more than 800mm of rain such as Khanh Hiep 994.7mm, Son Thai 834.5mm, Cam Phuoc Dong station 866.6mm. Floods caused inundation in the following wards and communes: Suoi Dau, Suoi Hiep, Dien Khanh, Dien Dien, Dien Lac, Nha Trang, Tay Nha Trang, Bac Nha Trang, Nam Nha Trang, Bac Cam Ranh, Cam Ranh, Nam Cam Ranh, Ba Ngoi, Trung Khanh Vinh, Do Vinh, Bao An, Phan Rang, Phuoc Dinh, Dong Hai...

The flood area is likely to continue to spread. The flood level is from 1 - 2.5 meters, in some places it is deeper than 3 meters. Flooding on Dinh Ninh Hoa River, North of Khanh Hoa Province at 11:00 p.m. on November 19, 2025, exceeded the historical flood peak of 1986. Other rivers in Khanh Hoa Province are forecast to reach and exceed the flood peak of previous years. Therefore, people in riverside areas at high risk of severe flooding need to be proactive and ensure safety measures before receiving support from functional forces.
