The congress was attended by Lieutenant General Khuat Viet Dung - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung; Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province Le Tri Thanh; leaders of Military Region 5, provincial and local leaders, along with 210 delegates and outstanding individuals representing more than 37,000 veterans members throughout the province.
Achieved many results
The patriotic emulation movement "Exemplary Veterans" in Quang Nam province for the period 2019-2024, linked with the province's patriotic emulation movement, has been renewed and developed in terms of content, form, and implementation methods. This has made a significant contribution to the fulfillment of key political tasks in the association's work and the tasks assigned by the local Party committee.
Through this movement, patriotism has been awakened, and veterans' association members and officials have been encouraged to uphold the spirit of self-reliance, self-improvement, solidarity, and exemplary mutual support in developing the economy , escaping poverty, and striving to become legitimately wealthy.
To date, the number of poor households among war veterans in the province has decreased to 1,483 out of 34,789 households (accounting for 4.26%); well-off and wealthy households account for 58.6%...
Over the past five years, the entire association has mobilized its officials and members to contribute more than 7 billion VND and participate in 121,220 man-days of labor, constructing 38,720 km of rural roads.
Notably, 128 members in districts, towns, and cities voluntarily donated 138,252 square meters of garden and residential land for the construction of rural roads, schools, health stations, etc.
During the period 2019 - 2024, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association and the People's Committee of Quang Nam province awarded 11 outstanding emulation flags and 28 certificates of merit to the Provincial Veterans Association and the Veterans Associations of districts, towns, and cities;
There were 269 instances of the Veterans Association at the commune level and individuals receiving commendations from the Provincial Veterans Association, and hundreds of instances of grassroots Veterans Associations and their officials and members receiving awards from various levels.
The emulation movement must be substantive and effective.

To ensure the patriotic emulation movement "Exemplary Veterans" continues to make strong progress at all levels of the Veterans Association, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Duc Dung, requested the Provincial Veterans Association to continue to uphold the fine nature and traditions of Uncle Ho's soldiers in leading and directing the associations at all levels and veteran members to effectively implement the targets and tasks set forth by the 7th Emulation Congress.
At the same time, the association should play a core role in raising awareness and combating erroneous views and subversive plots against the Party, the State, and the regime by hostile and reactionary forces.
Focus on strongly innovating the content and form of activities, organizing practical and effective emulation movements, and orienting them towards the grassroots. Emphasize the effective performance of the functions of social supervision and criticism, and participate in contributing ideas to the building of the Party and government...
Lieutenant General Khuat Viet Dung - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association - suggested that the Quang Nam Provincial Veterans Association focus on effectively carrying out the association's most important political task: participating in building and protecting the Party and government, protecting the national unity; and contributing to maintaining political stability and social order and safety at the grassroots level.
Promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology on patriotic emulation, in order to make the "Exemplary Veterans" emulation movement both widespread and effective, creating motivation for each cadre and member to uphold the essence of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers," the tradition of "Loyalty - Unity - Exemplary Conduct - Innovation," and strive to successfully complete all assigned tasks.
Lieutenant General Khuat Viet Dung proposed that the "Exemplary Veterans" emulation movement should always closely adhere to the leadership and guidance of Party committees and authorities, and be linked to the implementation of emulation movements, campaigns, and targeted programs for socio-economic development, national defense, and security at the national and local levels, such as "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas"; "The whole country joins hands for the poor - No one should be left behind"...
At the 7th Patriotic Emulation Congress of "Exemplary Veterans" in Quang Nam province, delegates unanimously nominated 6 comrades to attend the Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Vietnam Veterans Association for the period 2024-2029 and to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Veterans Association (December 6, 1989 - December 6, 2024).
To recognize outstanding achievements in the "Exemplary Veterans" emulation movement during the 2019-2024 period, the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag to the Provincial Veterans Association and Certificates of Merit to 6 district-level Veterans Associations;
The Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 collectives and 5 individuals; the Provincial Veterans Association Executive Committee awarded 24 collectives and 50 individuals belonging to the district-level Veterans Association, the affiliated Veterans Association (487) and the Provincial Veterans Association's agencies.
On the occasion of the Congress, the Provincial Veterans Association provided funding to support the construction of 7 "Houses of Comradeship" (60 million VND/house).
