
In Nguyen Du commune, the emulation movement is realized through many practical and effective activities. The whole commune currently has more than 1,300 war veteran members, operating in 18 branches. Promoting the spirit of solidarity and setting an example, 100% of members' families practice a civilized lifestyle and have a cultured family; 100% of members and their children sign a commitment not to violate the law or commit social evils; more than 95% of members are exemplary members; maintaining the operation of 14 self-management models on security, order, traffic safety, and environmental sanitation. From 2022 to present, war veteran members have pioneered in donating 9,700m2 of land to expand rural roads and intra-field roads. Veteran Nguyen Van Thuan, Can Du village, donated more than 1,400m2 of land with the thought, not to be recognized or praised, but only to have a wide road for people to travel conveniently, contributing a small part to the construction of the homeland. The Veterans Association of Nguyen Du commune has received a trust from the banking organization to lend capital to 272 members; support training and transfer of science and technology to help members develop the economy and increase income. Thanks to that, the lives of cadres and members have increasingly improved, many members have risen to become rich legitimately, typically: The farm model of veteran Trinh Van Huynh, nearly 13,000m2 wide, raising pigs, chickens, fish; each month, more than 100 pigs are sold to the market, achieving an annual revenue of more than 9 billion VND, creating regular jobs for 10-15 workers...
The province has more than 177,000 war veteran members, operating at 119 association bases. The association at all levels has widely implemented the emulation movement "Exemplary war veteran" associated with the local political tasks; promoted propaganda and mobilized members to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, actively participate in local movements associated with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. With the spirit of being exemplary and responsible, from 2020 to present, war veteran families have donated 21,427m2 of land, contributed more than 36 billion VND , participated in 24,899 working days to expand roads and build welfare works; maintained the activities of 432 self-managed war veteran groups participating in maintaining security and order, preventing and combating crimes and social evils; 146 self-managed war veteran groups participating in maintaining traffic order and safety; 405 veteran groups and clubs self-manage environmental protection. Many veterans actively participate and contribute useful ideas to the locality; participate in educating the younger generation on traditions; actively reconcile conflicts at the grassroots level, provide hundreds of valuable reports to the authorities, contributing to keeping people's lives peaceful.

From 2020 to now, the Veterans Association at all levels has organized visits and given tens of thousands of gifts; supported the construction and repair of 94 houses with a total amount of more than 2.2 billion VND, contributing to the good implementation of social security policies. Veteran Nguyen Tat Tran, Hoang Hoa Tham commune, said: For many years, my family has lived in a dilapidated house but did not have the conditions to repair it. When the cadres, members and people supported me with money and nearly 70 working days to help me build a house, I was very happy because in my old age I can live in a house filled with camaraderie.
On the economic front, the association at all levels has encouraged cadres and members to exploit the potential and strengths of the locality to actively transform the crop and livestock structure. From 2020 to now, it has coordinated to organize more than 200 training courses; received more than 1,042 billion VND from the Social Policy Bank system for more than 19,000 households to borrow; used more than 42 billion VND from the association's fund for more than 5,000 members to borrow without interest or with low interest rates to develop the economy. Thanks to the support of the association and the bravery and qualities of soldiers, the whole province has 250 small and medium enterprises, 16 cooperatives, 34 cooperatives, 1,072 farms, 4,516 households owned by the Veterans Association members, making an important contribution to local economic development. Mr. Dao Van The, Chi Minh commune said: After leaving the army and returning to my hometown, I was determined to develop my family's traditional carpentry profession. During the production process, I constantly researched and learned more about designs and techniques, improving my skills to create quality, aesthetically pleasing products that meet the needs of customers. Each year, the carpentry workshop earns a profit of 300 - 400 million VND, creating jobs for 35 workers.
Through years of implementation, the emulation movement "Exemplary war veterans" is not only a motivation for each cadre and member to continue training and contributing, but also a vivid demonstration of the spirit of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new period, continuing to affirm its important role in socio-economic development.
