On August 4, the People's Committee of Hoa Loi Ward, Ho Chi Minh City issued a notice to search for relatives of the newborn baby abandoned on Road 506 and sent staff to coordinate with medical facilities to take care of the baby.
Earlier that afternoon, residents living on 506 Street discovered a man and a woman riding a motorbike together, stopping their motorbikes and arguing loudly. A short while later, the two left a cardboard box on the side of the road and got on their motorbike and drove away. Curious residents came to check and discovered the newborn baby was still alive, so they reported it to the police.

The newborn was taken to Tan Dinh Medical Center for a health check and then transferred to Binh Duong General Hospital for care. The newborn's health is now stable.
The Ward People's Committee will issue a notice to search for the newborn's relatives according to regulations. If no one comes to claim the baby after the notice period, the authorities will complete the procedures for the organization or individual to adopt the baby.
