Market Management Team No. 8 (Binh Lieu, Tien Yen, Ba Che) has increased inspection and strictly handled acts of trading and transporting smuggled goods of unknown origin in the management area to protect the legitimate rights of producers and consumers.

On December 5, Market Management Team No. 8 coordinated with the Provincial Traffic Police to inspect a car with license plate 14C-321.12, driven by Pham Huu Truong (address Khe Tien village, Yen Than commune, Tien Yen district). Upon inspection, it was discovered that the vehicle was transporting 100kg of frozen young chicken eggs (50kg/box), and the driver could not present documents proving the origin of the product. Market Management Team No. 8 proceeded to file a case and confiscate all of the above goods; fined the vehicle owner 4.5 million VND for trading in goods and food of unknown origin.

Previously, Market Management Team No. 8 conducted surprise inspections at business and trading establishments in the management area (Binh Lieu, Tien Yen, Ba Che) and discovered 5 business establishments trading in smuggled cigarettes of unknown origin with brands such as: Shuang Xi; 555; Nanjing... Market Management Team No. 8 drew up a record of the handling, forced the business households to destroy the products and imposed an administrative fine of 2 million VND/household.

Faced with the increasing risk of smuggled goods, trading and trading of goods of unknown origin at the end of the year, Market Management Team No. 8 has stepped up the implementation of professional measures, developed plans to organize market inspection and control, and promptly handled violations of trade laws. In particular, identifying propaganda as one of the key tasks to raise awareness in business activities, Market Management Team No. 8 has strengthened information and propaganda work to organizations and individuals trading goods in the area. Currently, Market Management Team No. 8 is managing 3,391 establishments, with 312 organizations and 3,079 individuals trading in the inter-district areas of Binh Lieu, Tien Yen, and Ba Che. In November 2024 alone, the Team conducted 220 propaganda sessions to business establishments; Accumulated from the beginning of the year to the end of November 2024, over 1,211 propaganda campaigns have been carried out, with contents related to price stabilization; not producing and trading in counterfeit goods, smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin, etc.

Ms. Bui Thi Phu, a business owner at 51 Quang Trung Street (Tien Yen Town, Tien Yen District) said: After being informed by the Market Management Force about prohibited acts in business and trading, I have strictly complied and will conduct business in accordance with the provisions of the law. Currently, I have also imported goods for sale during Tet such as: Candies, beer, jams... All products are imported from large companies and agents, with full origin and source to serve people's shopping needs during Tet.

Although market inspection and control has been strengthened by Market Management Team No. 8, there are still illegal business activities taking place in the area. In November 2024 alone, Market Management Team No. 8 inspected 11 cases, detected and handled 11 cases/11 subjects/11 administrative violations; imposed a fine of over 40.5 million VND for violations of price listing, intellectual property rights violations, trading in smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin... In the 11 months, Market Management Team No. 8 inspected 137 cases, detected and handled 120 cases/120 subjects/126 violations, equal to 100% of the number of cases handled compared to the same period in 2023; imposed a fine of over 1.1 billion VND, reaching 185.8% compared to the same period. Of which, the administrative fine is nearly 607 million VND; the value of destroyed goods is over 387 million VND; the value of auctioned goods is 507 million VND.

Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Captain of Market Management Team No. 8, said: To effectively control the market at the end of the year, the Team continues to proactively coordinate with functional forces and local authorities in the area to strictly carry out inspection activities and handle violations of trading, business and transportation of goods not in accordance with regulations. Strengthen inspection, market control and handle violations of goods with high consumer demand at the end of the year and the Lunar New Year 2025 such as: Tobacco, alcohol, beer, soft drinks, food, electronics, refrigeration, fashion goods (ready-made clothes, shoes, handbags), livestock, poultry, products processed from livestock, poultry... In particular, step up inspection, supervision and strict handling of acts of transporting and trading of all kinds of fireworks and explosives; Control goods traded in online environments such as e-commerce platforms, websites, social networks like Facebook, TikTok...
