Dialogue on Vietnam Youth Development Strategy

On May 9, in Buon Ma Thuot City, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union coordinated with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to organize a National Youth Dialogue on implementing Goal 4 of the Vietnam Youth Development Strategy for the 2021-2030 period.

    Attending the program were Secretary of the Central Youth Union Ngo Van Cuong; Mr. Matthew David Jackson - Chief Representative of UNFPA in Vietnam; representatives of leaders of central ministries and branches, experts, scientists and more than 100 union officials and youth union members from many provinces and cities across the country.

    At the program, delegates focused on discussing and sharing about the implementation of Goal 4 of the Youth Development Strategy such as: Improving physical, mental, and cultural life; taking care of reproductive and sexual health for young people; results achieved in localities in implementing the Vietnam Youth Development Strategy for the period 2021 - 2025; raising difficulties and proposing solutions to improve the effectiveness of strategy implementation in the period 2026 - 2030.

    In addition, delegates attending the program also heard from experts and managers about the results of implementing policies and laws on protecting, caring for and improving the health of young people nationwide.

    The activity is within the framework of Project VNM10P07 "Supporting comprehensive youth development in reproductive health care, sexual health and responding to population aging to contribute to the successful implementation of the Vietnam Youth Development Strategy for the period 2021 - 2030", thereby promoting the right to participate in policy of youth, demonstrating a strong commitment between domestic and international organizations in protecting and developing the young generation of Vietnam.
