As part of a series of friendly matches between the three teams Vietnam, Spain and Kenya towards the 2025 World Cup, the host team Vietnam will have their opening match against Spain, an opponent ranked 32nd in the world, 10 places below Vietnam.

However, Spain was the team that started better with a series of serves that caused Vietnam a lot of difficulty in the first step.

After winning the SEA V.League 2025 championship, captain Thanh Thuy and his teammates lost their form when they continuously made mistakes. From passing, serving the ball to launching attacks, the Vietnamese team did not perform well.

After letting Kieu Trinh start in the first few minutes, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet decided to bring Bich Tuyen into the field at the end of set 1. However, Lam Oanh's poor first step prevented her from making good passes to her number 10.

Several sharp attacking situations by the girls in red could not overcome Spain's tall defense.

The European representative proved to be a quality guest when demonstrating a modern, comprehensive style of play. Not only did they serve well and defend effectively at the net, the Spanish flankers also scored diverse attacking points, De Paula, Varela and Escamila all performed impressively, helping the girls from the land of bulls win 3-0 (25-22, 25-18 and 25-20).

This is a somewhat surprising result as the Vietnamese team is ranked 10 places higher than Spain and is expected to have a certain excitement when defeating Thailand for the first time and winning the SEA V.League 2025 championship.

At 7pm tomorrow night, August 18, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will continue to play a friendly match against Kenya.
