Vietnam futsal team won 3-2 against Saudi Arabia

(NLDO) - In the second friendly match with Saudi Arabia, the Vietnamese futsal team won 3-2, winning the two matches 5-3 on the evening of April 10.

Entering the second leg against Saudi Arabia (ranked 50th in the world ), the Vietnamese futsal team continued to have a similar first half to the first leg, when the game was somewhat in favor of the away team, gradually speeding up in the second half.

In the 15th minute, Thai Huy accelerated on the right wing and passed the ball inside, creating a delicious opportunity for Gia Hung to run up on the left wing. However, Gia Hung's shot hit the post, regrettably missing the opportunity to open the score.

Just about 10 seconds later, Saudi Arabia made two consecutive fouls, with six touches, giving Vietnam a 10-meter free kick. However, Gia Hung failed to take advantage of the opportunity, causing Vietnam to miss the breakthrough in the first half.

The two teams returned to the first half with no goals scored.

In the last 2 minutes of the match, Saudi Arabia quickly deployed power-play but still could not break the Vietnamese defense.

In the second half, the Vietnamese futsal team repeated the first leg's performance and opened the scoring in the 25th minute. Thinh Phat dribbled the ball, opening up an opportunity on the right wing, captain Manh Dung charged into the middle, and finished dangerously into the far corner, putting Vietnam ahead.

In the 32nd minute, Manh Dung completed his double with skillful handling, smart movement, pulling the ball close to the sideline and then shooting diagonally past the Saudi Arabian goalkeeper, raising the score to 2-0.

In the 33rd minute, from a launch by goalkeeper Van Tu, Manh Dung completed his double with an effort and clever move, pulling the ball down to a narrow angle to shoot past the Saudi Arabian goalkeeper.

Trailing by two goals, Saudi Arabia immediately used a power-play and quickly reduced the score to 1-2. In the final minute of regulation time, both teams continuously scored, bringing excitement to the fans.

In the last 40 seconds, Thai Huy successfully stole the ball when the opponent deployed power-play and finished from close to his own goal into an empty net to increase the score to 3-1.

Less than 30 seconds later, Saudi Arabia scored a goal to reduce the score to 2-3 but still could not change the final result after two rounds of 5-3 in favor of Vietnam.

After this match, the Vietnamese futsal team will host the world's top 4 team, Kazakhstan, on April 13 and 15.
