In the past, Nhan Cao village was located in a large wilderness area, near the Ba Bong junction. The southeast side was separated from the Ma River. Legend has it that at that time, a pregnant woman drowned and drifted ashore from an unknown source, turning into a mountain range along the river. This mountain range was called Phuc Nhan, the mountain was also a long dike, so even if the Ma River rose, it could not flood the right bank.

Seeing that, the fishermen from the river gathered here. At first, they built temporary houses, during the day they still drifted on the river to catch fish and shrimp, at night they came home to have dinner and early the next morning they went back to the river to work. When the population was crowded, they concentrated on reclaiming the wasteland to make fields, from here the village also began to take shape. After many different names, until now the village has been changed to Nhan Cao village, Thieu Quang commune, Thieu Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province.
