Ethnic minorities in Quang Tri hope for bridges to overcome floods

This is a heartfelt petition of voters in Lia and Ba Long communes of Quang Tri province sent to the Provincial National Assembly Delegation at the voter meeting on October 2 before the 10th Session of the 15th National Assembly.

The provincial National Assembly delegation includes Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Hoang Duc Thang, Colonel Nguyen Huu Dan - Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 4, and Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Ho Thi Minh.

National Assembly Delegate Ho Thi Minh informed about important contents expected to be considered and decided at the Tenth Session.

At the meetings, voters proposed and recommended many important contents such as: in Lia commune, the biggest wish now is to soon complete 2 overpass bridges on Provincial Road 586. Besides, the problem of lack of clean water is directly affecting health and daily life. The current well water source is contaminated with lime, posing an urgent need to invest in a self-flowing water system to ensure quality. The education sector in Lia commune is also facing limitations in facilities, requiring early investment in the headquarters building, practice rooms and functional rooms, in order to bring a better learning environment for future generations.

In Ba Long commune, voters expressed concern about the erosion of Ba Long riverbank due to sand and gravel mining activities and proposed planting trees to prevent erosion and upgrading the Ba Long and Trieu Nguyen spillways. Voters also wanted better policies and allowances for positions such as: Village Chief, Party Cell Secretary, veterans and youth volunteers.

Speaking at the meetings with voters, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Hoang Duc Thang acknowledged and accepted the frank and enthusiastic opinions of voters; at the same time, affirmed that the Provincial National Assembly Delegation will fully receive the recommendations, synthesize and report to the National Assembly , the Government, central and local ministries and branches for timely consideration and resolution.
