Comrade Nguyen Khac Than holds the position of Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee

On the morning of November 11, Nghe An Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce the Politburo's decision on personnel work.

Attending were: Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Organization Committee Le Minh Hung; Party Central Committee member, Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee Hoang Dang Quang; Party Central Committee member, Secretary of Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Huu Nghia; Deputy Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duc Trung; Party Committee Secretary, Political Commissar of Military Region 4 Major General Doan Xuan Buong and comrades representing members of the Central Inspection Committee , Standing Committee of Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee, leaders of Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee.

At the conference, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee Hoang Dang Quang announced the Politburo 's decision on personnel work.

Accordingly, the Politburo decided that comrade Nguyen Khac Than (Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Yen province) ceased to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and ceased to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term; transferred and appointed to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and hold the position of Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee for the 20th term, 2025-2030 term.

Previously, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung, Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, was mobilized and appointed by the Politburo to join the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 18th term, 2025 - 2030; and introduced to the City People's Council to elect him as Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee.

At the ceremony, Head of the Central Organizing Committee Le Minh Hung presented the Politburo's Decision and presented flowers to congratulate Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Khac Than.

In his acceptance speech, comrade Nguyen Khac Than expressed his honor to be trusted and assigned by the Politburo with the great responsibility - to be the head of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee in the new development period; sent his thanks to the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, the Standing Committee of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee, the leaders and former leaders of the province through the periods, and all cadres, party members and people.

Affirming that Hung Yen and Nghe An are two lands that share a common cultural source and have a special relationship, comrade Nguyen Khac Than recalled that Hung Yen is the hometown of Hoang Thi Loan - the mother of President Ho Chi Minh, the genius leader of the nation. Currently, the two provinces of Hung Yen and Nghe An are making strong changes and rising. In particular, Nghe An has affirmed its position as a bright spot in economic development.

Seriously accepting the opinions, directions and tasks assigned by the Head of the Central Organizing Committee Le Minh Hung, in his new position, Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Khac Than promised to make every effort with the highest responsibility for the common development of the province; uphold the Party's leadership principles, uphold the pioneering and exemplary spirit with the collective Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee in solidarity, joint efforts, unanimity, constantly renewing thinking and leadership style; inheriting and promoting the achievements and valuable experiences of previous generations of leaders, determined to successfully implement the goals and tasks set out in the Resolution of the 20th Nghe An Provincial Party Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term.

Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Khac Than was born on March 15, 1974 in Phu Duc commune, Hung Yen province; professional qualifications: University degree in Law, College degree in Procuracy, Master of Economic Management; political theory qualification: Senior. He has held many important positions: Before March 2016, he was Deputy Director of the People's Procuracy; Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Head of the Organization Committee; Chairman of the People's Committee; Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quynh Phu district, Thai Binh province.

From March 2016 to October 2020, he was Director of the Department of Home Affairs; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Permanent Vice Chairman of the Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee for the 2016-2021 term.

From October 2020 to January 2025, he was Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Permanent Vice Chairman in charge of operating the activities of the Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee; Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Chairman of the Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

From January 2025 to June 2025, he held the position of Secretary of Thai Binh Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

From July 2025 to November 2025, he was Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Yen province (new) for the 2021 - 2026 term.

In November 2025, the Politburo assigned and appointed him to hold the position of Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee.
