Implementing the Conclusion Notice No. 81-TB/TW dated July 18, 2025 of the Politburo on the policy of investing in building schools for border communes, Son La province has established delegations to survey locations in border communes. According to the report, Long Sap commune has 2 primary and secondary schools, 64 classes, 1,725 students; it is expected to arrange about 1,000 students to study at the inter-level primary and secondary school, keeping the 2 existing schools to maintain teaching organization for 569 primary school students and 156 secondary school students. In Chieng Son commune, there are currently 3 schools, 102 classes, with 3,160 students; it is expected to arrange about 1,000 students to study at the inter-level primary and secondary school boarding school; Maintain 2 existing schools to maintain teaching for 1,019 primary school students and 478 secondary school students.
After inspecting the locations, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments and branches to coordinate with the communes to urgently complete the dossier and specific investment plan. In particular, focusing on choosing suitable locations in terms of terrain and traffic, ensuring convenience in construction and long-term operation. At the same time, it is required to carefully calculate the scale of schools, auxiliary infrastructure, meeting the conditions for organizing learning, boarding and semi-boarding activities for students.
Investing in building inter-level boarding schools in border communes contributes to ensuring equality in access to education , improving the quality of teaching and learning, gradually reducing the dropout rate, and creating favorable conditions for ethnic minority children in border areas to study and develop comprehensively.
