Stimulating consumption and promoting domestic trade are the driving forces for Quang Nam's economic growth in 2025.

Stimulate consumption

Mr. Le Vu Thuong - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said that according to the survey results, the total retail sales of goods and service revenue of Quang Nam in April reached 7,226 billion VND (up 4.5% compared to the previous month and up 19.3% compared to the same period in 2024).

Of which, retail sales of goods reached 4,078 billion VND; revenue from accommodation and food services reached 1,768 billion VND; revenue from travel services reached 59 billion VND...

In the first 4 months of 2024, total retail sales of goods and service revenue reached nearly 28 trillion VND (up 14.1% over the same period in 2024). Of which, accommodation and catering services had the highest growth rate (29.7%); travel services and retail sales of goods increased by 10.2% and 9.2%, respectively.

It can be seen that the scale of domestic goods and consumer purchasing power in the Quang Nam market are increasingly expanding. The consumer stimulus programs of supermarkets, convenience stores, and mini supermarkets are stimulating purchasing power and consumption of goods.

Goods in the province, especially rural industrial products and OCOP products, are increasingly consumed thanks to e-commerce, direct sales at stores and export expansion.

Besides the advantages, the domestic market is facing many challenges. Manufacturing and trading enterprises in the province said that high transportation costs; increasing input material prices and the risk of strong fluctuations have caused enterprises to increase product costs, making it difficult to make a profit while maintaining current selling prices.

Increasing demands from consumers on product quality and the increasing number of imported goods in the domestic market are also challenges, requiring businesses to constantly innovate to compete in the market.

Stimulating trade to increase domestic purchasing power is an urgent requirement to meet Quang Nam's GRDP growth target of 10% in 2025.

Mr. Le Vu Thuong said that the key task of the industry and trade sector in May 2025 is to promote domestic market development and stimulate consumption in 2025 according to Directive No. 08 dated April 4, 2025 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade .

The provincial industry and trade sector will organize a conference to connect businesses, cooperatives, and agricultural production and trading establishments in Quang Nam with export enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa province...

Unblocking domestic trade

Quang Nam's GRDP growth target of 10% in 2025 is pivotal for a period of double-digit growth in the coming years. To achieve this goal, stimulating consumption in the province is one of the driving solutions.

Domestic consumption demand is increasing as the economy recovers and grows; people's shopping spending is more open, no longer as stingy as during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is also necessary to mention that domestic goods are increasingly abundant, diverse, with many types, better quality, beautiful designs... which have stimulated consumers' shopping needs. Connecting supply and demand will be an effective solution to promote domestic trade.

Mr. Vo Hung - Deputy Head of the Rural Development Department - Quang Nam Rural Development Department said that from May 15 to 18, at Tam Ky 24/3 Square, the functional sector organized a booth to display, introduce, promote and trade OCOP goods and Quang Nam agricultural products.

Accordingly, the exhibition area has 150 booths with more than 350 OCOP products, agricultural products of more than 200 entities in the province. OCOP products are selected as quality goods, 3-star standard or higher, expected to meet the consumption needs of the people.

This is a good sign because through the program, Quang Nam brings OCOP products and agricultural products to domestic and international friends; helps consumers buy Quang Nam goods, contributing to promoting fast and sustainable consumption of goods.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vu - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment said that Quang Nam will organize a trade connection conference to link cooperatives, craft villages, and OCOP product production and trading establishments of the province with enterprises nationwide to connect supply and demand of goods, bring goods into the domestic distribution system and export to foreign markets.

“The program not only stimulates consumption but also encourages OCOP product production facilities and Quang Nam agricultural products to improve quality, innovate goods, and apply technology to production to promote sustainable economic development,” said Mr. Vu.

The implementation of the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" in the province in recent times has gradually changed social behavior in prioritizing the use of Vietnamese goods and typical products of the province.

Mr. Le Tri Thanh - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province said that Quang Nam continues to promote communication information about the campaign through many channels with effective methods as well as strengthen trade promotion, trade connection, and stimulate domestic consumption of goods.

Quang Nam focuses on developing trade through direct sales channels, e-commerce, especially promoting the export of goods to strongly develop the economy.
