Dong Nai has 106 communes meeting advanced new rural standards

From the construction of new rural areas, localities of Dong Nai province have focused on economic development, improving people's lives. The province's key agricultural products have been present in many countries and territories around the world. From the beginning of 2024 to now, farmers growing durian and other key export fruit trees have achieved good profits thanks to the continued growth of the fruit export market. The reputation of the quality of fresh fruit in particular and agricultural products in the province in general is increasingly affirmed when participating in the international market.

The impressive results achieved are thanks to the fact that in recent times, localities in the province have focused on building specialized areas for growing high-quality fruit trees. Up to now, the whole province has formed 127 concentrated agricultural production areas for the province's key agricultural products with a total area of nearly 40.7 thousand hectares, of which 8 agricultural areas apply high technology (CNC) with a scale of nearly 1.6 thousand hectares for rice, mango, grapefruit, durian products... The production areas have applied many scientific and technical advances in production such as: using high-yield, high-quality varieties; applying automatic and semi-automatic irrigation systems; using biological products to prevent pests; applying synchronous mechanization from land preparation to harvesting...

Since the beginning of the year, Dong Nai has been granted 18 growing area codes and 7 packing facility codes for bananas and durians for export by importing countries. Up to now, the whole province has 189 growing area codes with a scale of nearly 28 thousand hectares and 93 packing facilities granted codes to serve exports to markets: China, the United States, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, etc.

The province has also built 3 livestock farming areas in the districts of Tan Phu, Long Thanh, Xuan Loc to meet export conditions. In particular, the processed chicken product chain of Koyu & Unitek Co., Ltd. (Bien Hoa City) exported to the Japanese market reached about 300 tons/month.

According to Mr. Vo Van Phi, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, the communes meeting the model NTM standards in the first phase of 2024 have focused on investing in infrastructure, contributing to a major change in the appearance of rural areas. In particular, the average income of rural people in model NTM communes is high.

According to the set of criteria for advanced NTM and model NTM in the period of 2021-2025, the requirements to achieve advanced NTM and model NTM standards are much higher than in the previous period. However, in 2024, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province assigned high targets; in particular, striving for the three districts of Thong Nhat, Cam My and Vinh Cuu to reach the finish line of advanced NTM districts in 2024.

To effectively build new rural areas, Dong Nai has promoted agricultural production using CNC. Currently, the province has no specific policy on supporting CNC agriculture; however, the mechanisms and policies on supporting the development of CNC agriculture have been issued promptly and synchronously by the province, and have been integrated through policies, programs, projects issued by the Government, the Provincial People's Council, and the Provincial People's Committee, such as: credit policy for agriculture according to Decree No. 55/2015/ND-CP of the Prime Minister; support for the development of small-scale irrigation, intra-field irrigation and advanced irrigation, saving water according to Resolution No. 198/2019/NQ-HDND of the Provincial People's Council; support for production linkage according to Resolution No. 143/2018/NQ-HDND of the Provincial People's Council; support for agricultural extension according to Resolution No. 10/2020/NQ-HDND of the Provincial People's Council; Support organic agricultural production according to Resolution No. 05/2023/NQ-HDND of the Provincial People's Council; support businesses investing in the agricultural sector according to Decision No. 35/2021/QD-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee.

According to the leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dong Nai province, the policies clearly stipulate the conditions, norms, and support contents and are issued by departments and branches to create favorable conditions for organizations and individuals to access. Specifically, the support regulations on CNC application include: support for building CNC application models, the support level is 40% of the total value of the model, not exceeding 1 billion VND/model; one-time support of 100% of the cost of GAP (good agricultural practices) certification, organic; support of 50% of the cost of building advanced, water-saving irrigation systems; support of 40% of the cost of applying advanced management systems (not exceeding 20 million VND/system); support of 40% of the cost of transferring new science and technology, the support level is not exceeding 300 million VND; support of costs for implementing traceability and advertising organic agricultural products.../.
