Dong Nai supports Dak Lak province with 10 billion VND to overcome natural disasters and floods

(DN) - On the afternoon of November 25, a delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province, led by Mr. Vu Hong Van, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, visited and presented funding to support Dak Lak province in overcoming natural disasters and floods.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Vu Hong Van, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Nai province expressed his deep sympathy for the heavy losses of people and property that the people of the localities had to bear, including Dak Lak province. On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province, Comrade Vu Hong Van presented 10 billion VND to support Dak Lak province to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, restore production, and soon stabilize people's lives.

Also on this occasion, comrade Vu Hong Van presented 1 billion VND to support the families of Dak Lak Provincial Police officers affected by natural disasters and floods; presented 500 million VND to support the families of Dak Lak Provincial Military Command officers affected by natural disasters and floods; and presented 1 billion VND to support the families of Central Highlands Mobile Police Regiment officers affected by natural disasters and floods.

The working delegation of Dong Nai province also supported 4 units under the Ministry of National Defense participating in supporting the recovery of natural disasters and floods in Dak Lak province, each unit with 300 million VND, including: Special Forces Brigade 198, Special Forces Corps; Brigade 682, Naval Region 4; Regiment 66, Division 10, Corps 34; Air Force Regiment 910 (Air Force Officer School, Air Defense - Air Force Service). The total cost of this donation is 13.7 billion VND.

Along with the financial support, Dong Nai province established a working group with 293 participants including: medical staff, doctors, medical staff; youth union members; Red Cross and volunteers bringing medicine, specialized equipment, medical supplies and many gifts and essential necessities to support the people of Dak Lak province to overcome the current difficulties.

On behalf of the leaders of Dak Lak province, Comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, respectfully thanked Dong Nai province for its timely attention and support. At the same time, he affirmed that this is not only a valuable material resource but also a great source of spiritual encouragement for the Party Committee, government and people of the province in overcoming the consequences of floods and taking care of people's lives.

Comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet said that right after suffering heavy damage from storm No. 13, from November 15 to November 21, 2025, Dak Lak province continued to suffer from exceptionally heavy rain and floods. This is the heaviest rain and flood in the province in decades, 1.5m higher than the historical level in 1993, exceeding the 100-year frequency.

The natural disaster has caused extremely severe and widespread damage, seriously affecting the lives and production of the people and the essential infrastructure of the province. More than 150,000 houses were deeply submerged in water, of which hundreds were completely damaged; many properties, crops, and livestock of the people were lost; many key traffic routes, bridges, irrigation works, schools, and medical stations were eroded and seriously damaged... The initial damage is estimated at nearly 5,500 billion VND (not including the damage among the people). Dak Lak province has been mobilizing all resources, urgently implementing relief work and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

Central ministries, branches, provinces and cities, including Dong Nai province, organizations and individuals inside and outside the province have been actively supporting Dak Lak province in responding to and overcoming the consequences of floods.
